My god, your love and adoration towards her isn't any less important just because you wrote her! If anything, it's even more important than what others think about her. As a trans woman myself, I really do appreciate you for giving such a good source of representation, even if it's still in a porn game, haha. And sadly, the shit that happens to her isn't unrealistic. We're incredibly likely to be the victim of that kind of treatment, so although it was super painful to watch, it does put a spotlight on what a lot of us face on a daily basis. Whether that was intentional or not, that's something I appreciate too as well, seeing as a lot of people conveniently overlook the fact that statistically we're more likely than cis women to be raped and even killed. I don't want to drag on and make this all super political, but just know that you're doing good work dev <3 I'm only one trans woman, but you certainly have my approval :3Oh dear.. I haven't even touched the Hub since E2Ch1 so that bug has been sitting for a while x)

Aoife has an absolutely horrific time in this story but she remains unfathomably stoic throughout, I adore her character so so much. Is that weird to say considering I wrote it? x)!

I don't think that the comment that triggered this response merited much response at all. But you make good points pertaining to the treatment of trans characters and cis women in adult VNs. Have you had the opportunity to play the games by After Choices such as Kathoey and Free Pass? They may be more of what you are looking for in terms of positive trans character representation.

I'll admit it didn't warrant that response no, but ugh I hate when people willingly ignore the points I'm trying to make, by going all "Stop whining snowflake" on me regardless of how valid and correct my opinion is. And yes I have! They're wonderful games, even though I'll admit that there's some cultural barriers that sometimes caused me to misunderstand what was being said and done. But those cultural differences are neat to see! It gives people of other cultures more rep, which is always something I'm down with, even if I don't understand said culture, and therefor can't entirely relate to it.

I actually hate that scene out the back of the bar but I felt it necessary to put into perspective the gravity of what Aoife's going through. Oddly enough when I first wrote out that scene that's when the whole story sort of slotted into place for me ^_^ I made that scene very early on in development and I just latched onto her personality so much I wanted her to be more of a mainstay than just another "day at work event" and here a year on she's basically the second lead x)

The porn industry, in general, doesn't treat anyone all that well, or all that poorly. However, between men, women, and transsexuals, the people in the industry who receive the worst treatment, overall, are men. I understand that most people wouldn't have any idea about this, since most people don't actually know much about the porn industry and how it works.
As for being seen or treated as a piece of meat to be fucked, that's how all performers in the porn industry are seen and treated, and it shouldn't be surprising to anyone. Could they be treated better? Yes, to a certain degree. Should they be treated better? Yes, insofar as it is practical. Should they be seen as victims? No, not so far as the industry itself is concerned. They may, in some cases, be the victims of the general public, but not of the industry.
Why would you hate that scene? You don't hate the scene of Lisa being raped, and she's the protagonist of the story. Or at least, you haven't given any indication of hating Lisa's rape scene. These are fictional events, happening to fictional characters, and part of making us care about them and feel that there are high stakes to the story is putting them in bad situations and allowing bad people to do bad things to them. But you already know that, because you're a good writer.
Just like there's nothing whatsoever wrong with a player being turned on by Lisa's rape scene, so there's nothing wrong with a player (or you, the writer) being turned on by Aoife's rape scene, which was far softer and shorter than Lisa's.
