So don't distribute or create optional mod with deleted content in Ireland. There, problem solved.

This is as dumb as Wolfenstein censorship in Germany, but I don't get why it is such problem with creating localized censored Irish version and uncensored International version. Or even better, if that would take a form of unofficial fanbase patch prepared by someone living outside of Ireland.

Circumventing sanctions is a thing, you know. And usually you do this by cooperating with people who live abroad, where something what is forbidden in one jurisdiction is legal in another.
Again because CREATING the material is the legal issue. How damned obtuse are you that you can't grasp that very simple concept? Posting it, distributing it or hiding it on your laptop is NOT the problem.... making it in the first place is the issue.
You're running around in circles like a rabid dog chasing its tail because it's moving while ignoring the fact it's moving because you're chasing it FFS.

OK, so let me break it for you even to a simpler form.

1. If CREATING the material is the legal issue, Palegrass already broken the law, since he created the material presumably living in Ireland. But on other hand, how you want to prove that, since he could travel abroad and create the cut content somewhere else? If he moved his ass from his island, creation might happen somewhere else outside Ireland.

Erasing something from newer versions of a game, doesn't change original act of creation, right? That's if we assume that incriminating scenes were in fact created in Ireland.

2. If creating the material is the legal issue, another way to circumvent it, is having abroad accomplice, who's going to be pointed when it comes to autorship of incriminating parts of work. But then it should be noted in credits, that let's say DLC has other authors and Paul's arc or bar toilet scenes were created by other party, unsurprisingly not based in Ireland. And while these people weren't listed in game credits or they couldn't agree with Palegrass on terms, because he wanted to keep Lisa as his solo project, so he discarded these scenes to keep it that way and don't include material created by others. But now, he reconsidered, decided to allow that foreign input and stuff created in other countries is now part of newer version of the game.

We could even recreate these scenes by changing some minor details, scene framing angles, do a rewrite of these scenes and if people doing this would be based outside Ireland, these wouldn't count as created in Ireland. :) That's rather obvious. See?

So you have a plenty of options to tackle this problem, but the most important thing is whether you're want to stay conforming with the will of lawmaker or help artist to keep his story vision intact and not let state to mess up its integrity.

Or you could just find the games that have the content that Palegrass removed so he could stay out of jail, and play those.
Who wants to tempt fate and add content regardless where it originates from just to please some people in a AVN pirate site?

Guys, I think your disagreement stems from confusion about what the penalty would be for creating and/or possessing this content. It likely wouldn't be a "jail" matter (obviously creating, publishing and distributing actual, real SAM would be a much more serious offence), instead a court would much more likely order the destruction of all game assets.

Therefore, the material was created, it was not compliant with the law, and so by removing it the game is compliant with the law again and no further action is required.

Honestly the debate about why paul was removed among the other scene that had similar situation or theme to Paul was ultimately the decision of Pale Grass. Whether you want to argue about how they could have attempted to bypass it or keep it means nothing as the creator and writer of this game is Pale Grass and they decided that it was best to not risk it. we have to be thankful and grateful that he tries to interact with people on here.

I prefer to play Lisa, since removed content wasn't my cup of tea anyway, but integrity of work despite political will and censorship is something more fundamental for me. I don't consider Palegrass' decision to remove stuff from his project as disappointing as fans' lame reaction to his reasons for doing so and their "what can you do" stance, so far away from helping the man to withstand pressure and mitigate it.

I had no idea you can find so many docile legalists on pirate message board and I consider that in part funny and in part very sad.

I guess anyone, who wants to keep any government from messing original artist's story beats and what can happen to his characters in his story.

Gardai will go full commando to grab patch assets on some foreigner's computer outside Ireland? I would like to see that. :D

To be honest, I would think about reintegrating removed stuff to the game, after everything else will be completed and story itself would be concluded. After that any legal threats will be toothless, as the project would be finished anyway.

I am with you 100% against censorship and allowing creators to express themselves freely. Unfortunately the penalties that can come from that expression far outweigh what can be gained in our little corner of the world.
If our numbers were much larger and in a more mainstream setting then I'd stand with any one to fight for the right to express themselves without fear of censorship.

I think palegrass did a good job in adjusting the story to not need the content he removed. If anything they made up for it by adjusting it. Anyone really thought the sidequest with paul were goin anywhere? Although i like Lucas i prefer his story over Paul as he seemed too generic compared to the similar characters in the story. Lucas brings a little bit of that innocence that balances the game a bit more than what Paul brought.

Im playing at the game again and I was wondering if there will be some romance/route between Lisa and Theo because there was some good tension between them when she wanted to defend Aiofe and he kind of hot so it would be so great to have some sex scenes between them because there is so much potential so pleaseeee PaleGrass

It's freedom of speech and expression hill. I don't know what's so weird about it.

Supposedly that should be a West thing, but I guess your slave instinct matured enough, so you can be part of some kind of Panem and serve the regime well.

Hi, just wondering if you are still planning to update your ren'py edition? Thank you, for your hard work.
Ummm Did you happen to read the yellow line of text in the post you quoted?

It's pretty clear...

[New update will come out once the Jayce Party event is finished! (Not finished in v3.2.5 of RPGM ) ]

Yup, still in plan. Palegrass probably wants to finish Jayce Party with version 3.3.X, but I don't know which number will stand for "X". And apparently the next update won't conclude this event:confused:.

And for everyone waiting for an update, I will provide more information once Palegrass finishes Jayce Party. I have more to say when the right time comes:whistle::coffee:.

The next two updates (one before Christmas, the other next year) will be the end of the party.
