View attachment 2033264 got this error when trying to take quest after talking to the king.

Same issue even though the picture is actually there, in the correct folder, so I don't get it...

Workaround: save before talking to her, close the game, play with the japanese version (game.exe), talk to her and select first choice each time. Quest accepted, voila ! Now save, close, and play with the English version again.
