I generally despise remakes that are released in an unfinished state, and I’m not particularly fond of using AI either. However, this time I want to say that the dev made the right decision and is doing a good job.
The use of AI in creative work is a sign of the times. While there are still awkward aspects to it, and users might not fully embrace it yet, the technology will continue to improve in quality. When that happens, there will be a clear divide between creators who know how to use AI effectively and those who fall behind.
There’s no real need for users to harshly criticize devs for using AI. With AI, developers can significantly boost the scalability and productivity of a project. As a result, many projects that might have been delayed or canceled for various reasons could finally be completed.
Of course, compared to traditional methods, the quality or completeness might feel lacking for now. But considering how quickly the technology is advancing, these issues and limitations will likely be resolved soon. Just think back to AI rendering or CG from only a few years ago—compared to now, it's clear that in just a few more years, we’ll be seeing AI usage at a level we can truly be satisfied with.
In that kind of future, creators will absolutely need the ability to actively and effectively utilize AI.
