Ren'Py - Completed - Long Live the Princess [v1.0.1] [Belle]

Now please, hear me out I have not played the recent version of this game nor will I, but I did play a very early version a few months ago. So, with that in mind, this game is still 5 stars as since back then, it has been the only game that made me super, super excited to see more of, I don't want to play it before it's released fully because it was just so perfect and I want to experience it start to finish in all its refined glory.

It hit all the nails right on the head and just stuck with me till now. I can recall so many things I liked about the game and in pretty vivid detail both the side, and main plot points. I typically forget these within a few days for most games, even if I enjoyed them at the time. But the writing and interest building this game does is on another level. I remember sneaking out into alleys to see where my sister goes, even remember her meeting someone, I remember training up in the courtyard with two characters that I enjoyed reading about, I remember thinking I wanted to sleep fuck the sister who shared a room (another room? either way it was close to the MC's bed) and getting the shopkeeper to try on dresses. I remember so much and I've not touched this game in months.

If that's not a huge nod to the quality of the game, I have no idea what is.

A game that requires a little reading and management for days, each day you have to follow a unique route and know exactly what to do because if you get lost you could get stuck and have to start all over again. Unfortunately this is one of the negative points I have about the game since if I forget to do something I will have to start all over again because otherwise there will be no progress. Overall, it has good scenes and good characters, you need to read in detail or look for a walkthrough to be able to play and this ends up being a little frustrating.

Long Live The Princess (LLtP) is great game for those looking for an engaging story of mystery and intrigue supported by some interesting characters. I picked up this game originally because I enjoy the corruption genre and expected some sort of mind-control magic/drug to do the corruption which is the case in LLtP. Although I came for the corruption and the H-scenes, I stayed because I wanted to find out more about the narrative.

Visually LLtP is very easy on the eyes. The renders/models are gorgeous and unique. Each character has a distinct visual charm to them and as a result make each character quite memorable. The environments look exactly how I’d expect in a low fantasy, medieval setting. The town features very brown, grey palette. Juxtaposed against the forest lush green, alive and fresh it amplifies the blandness of the town and the liveliness of the forest. Outside these two environments we don’t get much variety but may be purely a design decision on the developer’s part. The H-scenes are hot and great, the ability to change camera is fun however some angles are a little strange sometimes (thinking of one of Samarra’s scenes). While we are on the topic of scenes, there is a gallery scene that can be accessed from the main menu, strangely uncommon in most of the games I’ve played which have required me to enter a save file before replaying scenes. Love this.

Game plays like a point’n’click game and visual novel, there isn’t much depth to it. Jump in and start the story straight away. I played an earlier version where navigation was done through a menu which was super annoying, now most of the navigation is completed through a map system, super awesome thank you adding this in. Without a walkthrough, I can see the game taking very long time to get to the latest update, not many hints on where to go next and players may find themselves scrabbling around.

Story is super interesting; the king has died and the princess will have her coronation in your town. Murder, mysteries and conspiracies are all apart of the plot. The clues used to unravel corruptible girls add to the mystery and interesting way to build up suspense and curiosity. Some might find it a lazy way but it fits incredibly well with protagonists skill set. Skill building is important to this game because some progression is locked behind it however going out to train these skills can be annoying (no way to skip previously seen dialogue). Most of the characters you interact with have interesting back stories, motivations and desires and uncovering them is one of my favourite parts of the game (I enjoy gossip irl too). The constant bantering between Belle and the protagonist is definitely one of my favourite parts of the game, their chemistry is great, lots of back and forth, side jabs, front jabs and snide remarks when warranted. Can’t wait for more!

Pros:

• Lot's of content; doesn't matter who your favorite is, they'll have something.
• Great Setting; psuedo-fantasy medieval setting, somehow feels very fresh and original
• Great Models; 3d models are not usually my favorite, but the model work on display here is almost always top-notch

Cons:

• New Content: There's no indicator as to whether or not upgrading a skill point will unlock some new content unless you try it, which can lead to failing something several times.

Oh boy, im in love with this game. I started it pretty late around 10 pm and just wanted to try it. i ended with a night with little to no sleep at 6 am.

Positive:
The free roaming is a lot of fun.
While the scenes and the overall style seems a bit weird at first after playing one of the more colorful VN's it fits the overall style of the fantasy setting and game very well. You will get used to it. And you will love the scenes.
The Spellcasting, searching for clues to break the minds of the NPC's is a pretty great idea. The progress the MC makes in becoming a better caster feels well paced and maxing out your stats is a nice way of progress. Storywise MC grows from a really weird boring wanker to a sexual wizard having it really hard to spare its cum for three days. You will catch what im trying to say when you play the game. What you should, reader!
Belle is the kind of sidekick you wished Navi (OoT) was.
Every girl feels unique and interesting confronting you with new challenges of getting clues what they are on about.
I liked one part where you had to solve a problem in a limited time. i hope there will be more of those in the future to make the time part more important. (Edit: Yes, there will be! That's part of the concept.)

Neutral:
I dont think any (bad) choices have big consequences yet. But what I read about and of Belle (not the sidekick) im sure these things will be implemented. In its current state (v0.23) you can pretty much do what you want and explore every possible maybe not that smart decision without seeing the consequences.
Part of this is the whole "molesting girls in their sleep" thing. It felt kinda odd at the beginning and I had no (negative) consequences about it. I hope there will be some kind of little/big suspicions of the girls.
And im curious whats about to happen when the main plot will roll into town.

v.0.26 update: I've sticked with the project in the last few months and i have to say that the pace and quality of the updates is very good. Sure, they are a bit short, but the animations and story are worth it. It's probably still one of the best VN's you can get. I catch myself that i play the game from the start to try out different paths from time to time and what i read about the concept of the finished game is that this possibility becomes a feature to engage you to play the game multiple times. Not yet implemented, but it will come. The Dev still hasnt lost his/her passion and love for the big project LLTP is. You feel it with every new content patch.

Im more than ever looking forward to the great finale or at least the next update. Thank you!

You are forced through dozens and dozens and dozens of lines of dialogue on a standstill image - and it's not even good dialogue, but filler convos so the game seems bigger.

The visuals are a-ok, but nothing revolutionary or tremendous. No post-processing, no filters, just a screenshot.

Storyline is bland and nonsensical, but whatever, it's a porn game.

H-scenes are depicted in terrible angles, awkward positions and a rate of frames that doesn't keep up with most recent games.

The MC is an introverted, mediocre, bland idiot from A to Z, with no progress what-so-ever throughout the story. I am completely sure the MC lacks a brain, as his confusion, awkwardness and dumbound demeanor are present all the time.

The creator presumes we lack a brain too - you're given a tutorial, hints and tips until like 2h into the game.

Summary: A game that I'd give a maximum of 3 stars in 2016, but we're in the second half of 2019. Keep up with the times rather than milking people on your Patreon.

Interesting story concept that well delivered so far.

Well laid out sandbox game with limited stat building (6 max and most are developed as story progresses), so I advise against using console commands. Also only a few stats with each girl that dependent on girls personality and again none need to be very high to progress. There is no grind needed at all.

Lots of options in each girls arc and clearly a lot of decisions that going to impact each girls ending. Yes it is an assumption but seems pretty obvious that we not just influencing game end for MC but where each of girls endings. I advise against trusting walkthrough except if stuck simply to many decisions that have consequences way down track though using it to get a feel for the game might not be a bad idea.

Most of game pretty obvious and simple and Belle gives a ton of clues amongst her endless humor.

Love the variety in renders and the distinct lack of oversize tits. As an itty bitty lover very happy with the small and regular tits with only two of women having large tits. The animations are clever, they are mostly simple but they are linked together through player preference with multiple angles. to make a great full scene.

Great characters that really developed well and no brainless cock addicted bimbos.

Impressive amount of content I couldn't finish it all in one sitting.

There is a plot to the story and the mechanics for solving mysteries/secrets is rather ingenious. I've not seen it in a game before myself. It was intuitive and the UI makes it an easy mechanic to use as a player.

The game shows exactly how to create an open world Visual novel, with no grinding. yes you do have to repeat some tasks to increase your abilities but because you only have to do these tasks a couple of times each the grind is eliminated. With agility the stat you have to level up the most you alternate between two characters teaching you so the events don't repeat themselves much at all. While some scenes do repeat over and over like working there are enough random events to help with this.

The games weakness is the dated animations. The stills are great but that isn't a big deal in 2019 as almost every game has great renders. The characters in the game are varied in personality, and appearance. And characters vary in how willing they are to pursue a sexual relation with you.

Worth you time and effort to download this game.

8/2019 is the first time I have taken a look at LLtP so I cannot speak on how the game has progressed but I enjoy almost everything about this story. The effort that has been put into each relationship is refreshing and the fact that conversations change as you learn different tidbits is quite entertaining.

I only have a couple minor negatives and some of it I know has to do with the story still being developed. Some quest requirements aren't exactly clear, ie The Crone, I thought I had to enchant six new women instead of just deepening the bond.

As much i like adventure and midavel age games this game is not worth playing in my opinion , the renders are not good at all look old and cheap , many annoying characters that dont add anything to the story , boring game play whith too much text that put me to sleep , midavel age gamles are great but this is not one of them.

The balance between gameplay elements, story and H-stuff is quiet good... you'll have to work for it, but it's no grind.
Graphic is also very nice, not to mention a captivating story, giving actual crime stories a run for their money.

The game mechanic is simple, pretty straight forward. Didn't need any walkthrough to complete it-(could change in the future). Choice that could impact future are mark-Hope it stay that way.
Nice rendering, with a good story/writing. Pixie-Belle made me laugh, and at other point the writing/development of story brought tears to my eyes.
Good mix of seriousness and laughter, without being overly stupid story wise.
Also the game/story offer intrigue in the form of clues(game mechanic)

I can not wait for the next update no wonder Boom gave you a shout out. I think ill marry the fairy she is the type of woman you bring home to mama. Oh and the sister perfect!

A seriously good game. Well written and loads of naughty content for the fappers out there. Also, actually not bad as a fantasy story on its own. I can happily say I'm impressed. The only downside I can see is that I'll have to wait for more updates.

This game has improved so much over the months. The story is (as of 0.22) super interesting, characters are well rendered and there's lots of stuff to do and to find out. Furthermore, there's no unnecessary grind in this game.

This game, in its infant state, was actually the first adult themed game I have ever played. I loved it back then, and having played a few more since I still love it now: great dialogues, and banter, especially between the MC and Belle. The story progresses nicely, the renders are great and the idea with uncovering the secrets of the girls is a nice grind. Can't believe this seems a female developer because the game hits all the buttons for male audiences. Can't wait to see how the story ends, please keep up the exceptional work!

This is probably one of the BEST adult games I have ever played. The sex, yeah it takes a bit to get to it, but like with great sex in real life, the build up and anticipation is completely worth it. The storyline is not only believable it is compelling and even if this wasn't an adult game, I want to know how the story ends.

To other game creators, you could learn a lot from this game. Even when paths aren't fully implemented, you can still do a lot and progress the story.

Oh, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the absolutely STUNNING the renders are. I've played many MMORPGs where the environment and actions aren't as smooth.

Like any good detective game, you can probably guess where the story is going next without it seeming like it's obvious, making it feel like you pieced together the puzzle all by yourself. It's not technically a harem game (yet), but every girl is worth the romantic time and effort. I have some guess for the future of this game, and all of those guesses just make waiting for the next update a little more exciting.

Very good game, you have real options, and interesting storyline. Maybe game needs some more hints, but it is interesting to find out things by yourself. I hope game will be with greater updates soon.

The story and the narrative in this game is a laugh riot and has a lot of sexy action as well. It's easily in my top three and will be yours as well if you give it a try!
