Ren'Py - Completed - Long Live the Princess [v1.0.1] [Belle]

Long Live the Princess is a visual novel by Belle with investigative gameplay and some rpg elements mixed together in a very precise and well rounded way. Your purpose is to prepare for the arrival of the princess, improving your special abilities and your stats while interacting with many characters, each with its own special branch of the story under a certain time limit that you can disable. The game has many mysteries and hidden plots, scenes, and dialog you have to actively search to get it. While progressing the relationship with each character in its own way, you are constantly rewarded with great character development from unique personalities and a good amount of scenes with each girl. The investigation mechanic is impressive for a Renpy engine, engaging with this little world and charming the player with progressively more interesting characteristics revealed through sleught. The models are beautiful and unique, while still being lore friendly with the medieval fantasy world you are in. It’s a game that will require a good amount of hours and reading to understand the mechanics and navigate through the plot while exploring all the romances and its options. After that, the game has a new game plus with even more content that ties with elements you saw the first time. Without a doubt this game was developed with much care, love, and it delivers its purpose with flying colors. Long Live the Princess is a must for anyone that enjoys Renpy games. Seeing those incredible mechanics working perfectly in this visual novel engine is quite a feat in itself. The story, characters, romances, and plot twists sprinkled with fantastic scenes makes the experience even better. Sadly the two following games developed by Belle are very different and lack in quality, but that is a different discussion.

Holy shit what an absolute hidden gem this one is! There's plenty of story, you're free to explore the game and the relationships, the dialogue is clever, moving, funny and the sex is plentiful and hot. I would pay good money for a game like this!

I was skeptical at first, but the game caught me somehow and made my play it through. This doesn't happen very often, as I quit games that doesn't hook me within the first hour or less.

So as I was playing the hours passes and I didn't notice as I really enjoyed played it.

The time you have to “complete” the game before reaching end-games (days 50) is very short, unless you rely on cheats or walkthroughs/guides. I should've not picked the limited time option, but oh well.

I finished most of the “quests”, but couldn't start any romance with the girls, as it should be possible when I checked some guides. Needless to say, I stopped spending time with them after nothing happened, spending time with them two or three times. Same with working, as you don't really need to work much for money.
I focused on upgrading my spells and attributes, yet I didn't find out how to get the last two charisma points, but maxed the rest.

So I reached endgame with most of the stuff done, but no romance and I couldn't find a way to convince one girl to be bisexual. Although I used a spell to get it started. I don't know what cock blocked me in the possible threesome but even with maxed attributes the MC said he can't do it because she isn't interested in men. Not sure what I did wrong there.
I also couldn't mind break the crone, but I'm sure I had the clues for it, but apparently not. The MC didn't tell me that I don't have enough, as he was on other characters.

Either way, I choked at the end and had the worst possible ending.
I was assuming you could rely on the last person you visit before the event, but turns out you can't.
I didn't involve the other two options and then screwed up the ending.
Furthermore, I was smart enough to save before heading into the event, but messed up hitting load to start over and just overwrote my save…this way I couldn't have a second try and was forced to start over. Which I didn't do.

Do I want to replay the game even with NG+ option? The answer is: No.

I'm tired of all the conversations and the grind per person. Let alone, I don't see much benefit starting over even with maxed stats as most of the outcome will be the same except for maybe two or three more sex scenes and a better ending.

What can I list as negative impact for me?:
— The animations are pretty good, but could be a bit better
— Except for the animation scenes, the game looks blurry as heck
— Places that you have “completed” should be removed as an option to go to. Which did happen for one thing in the wilderness, but sadly the places in town are still there and waste your time checking them every day.
— I assume I did pretty much complete all objectives yet didn't get any romance with any of the characters

It is definitely worth a go and I highly recommend giving it a try.

Looking forward to the developer hopefully continue to create games.

The game is excellent, with an engaging story and captivating characters. The spicy scenes and the wide variety of choices are definite highlights. However, the one area that could use improvement is the animation quality in the scenes. Enhancing the fluidity and detail of the animations would elevate the experience even further. Overall, it's a fantastic game with just one minor aspect to refine.

This game is really well made and brought a verry new type of investigative gameplay that goes great with the visual novel style ive never seen before in a h game truly innovating the Jonra but i have a problem with how the game expects you to have multiple playthrough. it's not like the game has so meany branching paths you can't to everything in 1 playthrough its pretty linear. its not like what you learned from your previous playthroughs will allow you to progress further this time instead the game gatekeeps meany interactions with an experience section forcing you to do multiple playthroughs to get everything but not letting you keep your intel so you have to resolve all the mysteries! and the absolute mountain of dialogue would have been brutal if i actually read it but I did not and now I have to redo all the bullshit i did last time I Also my first playthrough was noticeably light on erotic content but doing it all over again would be completely ridiculous! though i do like you can acutely loose meany games are to pussy to tell you that youve failed. il try another playthrough with a walkthrough which i hope will be better

• Lack of genuine or more of fictitious for sexuality.
• Lack of seductiveness in sexual approach.
• Very hard to play without the walkthrough.

The best game on this site. The characters are well-written. The renders are perfect . Belle is the best. The plot is gripping and engaging. It's so good I wish it was on Steam so the dev could profit from it.

a nice story , very well written & has many new creative ideas , map is easy to navigate for the missions & walk through is simple & direct , its not easy to get stuck in dead ends or become lost like most other sand box games , i didn't even need to check the walk through .. i just randomly drop some where & end up completing part of the story .. plus all story missions are written in the top of the screen near the map any way in case you need a hint ,,

sex contents are balanced between the amount of story & the sex scenes , and i didn't feel any Grinding in this game , Wherever you go, there's always something new waiting for you & a new conversation, most of the time thou ..


bads :
im not a big fan of first person view the whole game . im sorry ,, its just make me feel like im watching some kind of TV news , all the characters will be facing your screen as if they are news reporters .. even in the sex scenes i would like to see the full view of both characters , not to be an invisible man ,,

also the map has some weird way of going back in some points .. like if im inside a place in the second map & i wanted to go back outside .. it will take me all the way back to the first map again .. while i just need to go out in the second map .. i don't know why its programed that way , its kinda confusing & it gets annoying later on ,,

the girls .. they are beautiful but they are not that sexy .. most of them are skinny & sharing the same body type ..
also the amount of side characters is very poor ,, comparing to how long this game is ,, 10 girls only is not enough in a 2 weeks long game play .. it will cause a lot of repetitive sex with the same characters over & over again .. & for me , if i have sex with the same girl more than 2-3 time i will lose interest & it gets boring ,, you always looking forward for more girls & new faces ,, in fact , there are actually some extra side girls in there .. like ( the crone - the bar tinder - the BJ female customer - the second Nun - the old lady behind library ) .. however , they are unfuckable .. for some bizarre reason .. instead , i went back to fuck the same those few girls again & again

also im not in love with the ending .. it has like 4 endings or something , yet every ending has a handicap that ruins all the experience & satisfaction .. no matter how good ending you will choose , you still gonna have to sacrifice something else that is important , just to make you life more miserable

What to say that hasn't already been said?
This is an excellent game/novel/story by any definition/standard (for AVNs) and ratings less than 4* are matters of personal preferences, like older graphics, too much/not enough NTR, need more old guys having sex with young girls, story too long because one has a short attention span, etc, etc...

If it isn't already, this one should/will be a "classic". If there was a college course for AVNs, this one would be on the required reading list...
Well crafted, great script, intriguing story, great music, fun, drama, sex, variety...so many great things about this one.

While there are a lot of personal preferences I would like to have happened, done, added, etc., this one is just well executed overall with very few "flaws" or cons, but here are a couple:

- If you try this one without a walkthrough (especially w/ time limit active) you are a braver, smarter, more patient soul than I am... Without a walkthrough, this would be like getting dropped off in the wilderness and told good luck... Yeah, you have a "general" idea of the direction you need to go, but you'll more than likely end up going in circles, backtracking, get frustrated, quit, never get the "good ending", etc. Simply put, give it a try without a walkthrough if you dare. But before giving up, just look at the walkthrough...

- There are a handful of times in this story, particularly at the end/climax of the story, where the MC's thoughts and exposition drag on to the point where it triggered my Holy Grail "get on with it"... Those "get on with it" scenes/moments really don't take that long, but the MC's thought commentary was delaying the "action" and was restating the obvious or "saying" stuff that had already been said/thought/expressed, etc. That's the only "negative" criticism I have for this one.

If you've had this one book marked for months, like I did, stop passing it up and "get on with it"; you're missing a great one...

I didn't expect such a great game going in.

Everything in it is high quality, the renders, the musics used, good writing.

I found myself totally immersed in the mini-stories of the girls, the overarching plot with the princess was dope too.

Easy recommend.

Not a fan of the MC. Too much of a pervert for my tastes. Also don't like that you can't turn off the incest aspects. It's not like it adds anything to the story, no reason why there can't be a toggle for it.

An actual thought-out narrative is always a breath of fresh air in this genre.

The mechanics are organically intertwined with the plot.

Worldbuilding with lore and backstories that present itself naturally.

The characters are well-developed and have distinct personalities, rather than feeling like mere dolls. Player choices, including very subtle ones, influence not only their development but also their interactions with the setting and other characters.

The game offers a high degree of player freedom, only timely forcing you in one or another direction, and even then it's done via the supporting cast.

Combined with the OST, it all makes for a very immersive time.

The visuals are very solid.

It's very replayable, I went through it 3 times to see everything I wanted and then 2 so I could get all achievements!

Even if the adult scenes were removed, not many adjustments would be necessary for this to still be a banger VN, can't recommend it enough

Interesting story, some memorable characters, alright scenes.

The story is probably the greatest part of the game, and the clue system works perfectly for piecing together it.

Some of the characters are compelling and feel very natural, others not very much so. Though that might only be my preferences.

The scenes are serviceable but definitely not the strong points.

What really drew me out of it is the time limit. Even though it tells you that it is designed to let you, the player, have time to mess around and try different things to get things moving, you certainly do not have that luxury.
Characters have a set schedule, so you do not always have access to them. Several things in the game require you to waste time/days to progress in certain areas.
In my case I got to the last week of the story and realized there was literally no way for me to finish up everything that was left, since the things I had to do takes an entire day and then leaves your character de-buffed for several days after. At that point I lost all interest in the game, the story, even the scenes.

Wish I played without the time limit, as my bias is that I do not care for NG+, especially in VNs, and now will leave the game unfinished.

I was completely drawn to the story in the game. this game has good models, graphics, and a lot of text to immerse me in the game. Due to the design of the maker, you have to spend a lot of time experiencing all the plots. But it's fun, and only thing to be careful about is to take care to save your save.

If you haven't played this before, you really really should.

Really enjoyable to play, interesting story/characters, well written, good renders. Choices that actually matter without it feeling arbitrary or stupid like they do in so many other VNs.

Five out of Five. The game has a range of events, locations, characters, and progression as well as many multiple endings that make it a great re-playable story. Smooth transitions, good story, multiple plot devices and twists, multiple LI's, multiple ways to play the game, and a satisfying set of endings based on how you want to finish off the adventure. Graphics and character designs are top notch. The interactions with each character are unique and tinged with enough humor and drama in equal parts. A pleasant surprise and enough of a game by itself even without porn added in. It is a fantasy adventure with porn liberally tossed into the mix as part of the actual story (as opposed to games with random porn scenes thrown in just because). The magic system and way it was used was well done and different than most other mind control style games.

This is one of the greats. The models are hot and the characters backstories are investing. The story has great moments that flow towards a satisfying conclusion. The game mechanics aren't complicated but also requires some thinking if you want to progress. The only negative is that the scenes can be short and don't have a lot of variety. But overall for an hgame it's solid and should be recommended.

It's pretty solid—I'd give it a good 4 out of 5. The rendering is decent, and I'm digging the detective aspect. The story's a bit cliché, but the characters really pull you in. They feel surprisingly real. Overall, it's a fun game that's definitely worth a playthrough.

A game worthy of being played, that's for sure. The girls are interesting, no weird fetishes, and the plot is pretty good for the genre. The epilogue could've been better, as it's just a couple phrases about each girl's fate and even that is bugged, as it doesn't show pregnancy slides for a few girls when they're chosen in the end. The harem ending is even worse, as it doesn't take pregnancy into account at all, which is sad. Anyway, it's one of the good games and has admirable quality, as well as enough content to take up to three days of play, depending on if you're going to achieve the best ending in your first game or new game plus.
