The dev can give more under the hood details from personal experience everything you said is right
And Nathan gains xp from all teh topics he used as well as all the topics the other character used
As to show a conversation goes both ways and Nathan isn't just talking to a dummy or a wall lol
Characters will only gain xp in the topics Nathan uses if the overall outcome is positive yes
Rule of thumb it means you gotta have 2 topics of things they like and one neutral

Even if the conversation is overall positive, the person Nathan is talking to doesn't get xp from topics they don't like.

So I dunno if anyone is aware of this but you can flirt infinitely at the bar with Gina because it doesn't take time and actually somehow refunds focus. You just need to have either innuendo, sweet nothings or both. I'm abusing the hell out of this to cap out romance since those topics tend to be kind of annoying to find.

It also gives infinite perverted, sexual, seduction and incest skill gains once you burn the only topic she actually gives you for this.

Given that Superpowered is basically unplayable without mods even after all this time, this seems headed straight down that same, dubious path. I doubt I will bother with any new updates.

Been playing Loser since it started and once I got a hold of how interactions worked in SP I've never felt the need for mods.

The grind is actually kind of insane. It gets better once you really get familiar with things and unlock permanent topics but christ does that take a long time.

Is there another way to get Psychology topics apart from Gina at Sister with Benefits? A casual look around say no but I might have missed it. I didn't think the topics would vanish and I can't demote her back to that level.

Oh and you can get infinite money if you have Gina at Hot and Bothered and livestream at the same time. Time doeesn't advance and focus/stamina don't deteriorate. You only get $10 though.

I mean, that's less of a bug and more of a feature. Night City makes games in the vein of Disgaea. Grinding is an intentional part of the design. I get that's not for everyone, but I really like it. There are skills that you can grind that make you better at grinding skills that unlock new interactions that can speed up your grind. That sort of thing. There's always a sense of progression and growth and it's nice to come back to something that seemed difficult earlier and just crush it.

It certainly doesn't respect the players time, I can agree to that. It's not gonna offer a quick wank for a new player. But there are plenty of options around for that. I like these types of games and I'm glad they're being made.

I genuinely don't believe that it's a "feature". For it to be a "feature", it requires there to be a function behind the grind. At the current state of both of NC's games, there isn't a function because the game isn't fleshed out enough for the player to explore the mechanics of the game like one would in Disgaea. In Disgaea, there's plenty of different customization/mechanics to explore as you're trying to different things, but that isn't the case here or Superpowered. Both games are extremely barebones in concept to justify the grind. 50% of it could just be cut out entirely and lose nothing flavor/mechanics-wise.

Not to mention that NC games are both gated by time-restrictions and money restrictions AND xp restrictions. You have to grind money to increase earnings, just to be able to grind more efficiently to unlock a scene to grind xp. Like no part of this "opens up the game", the game is already open as it is, NC is just asking the player to run a mile to reach the next "hurdle".

any way to change the amount of xp one can get? i don´t wanna skip content but with the slow as fuck transitions when i change a location it is frustrating to also have to grind forever.

Restrained mother happens on mondays at 23:00 that's when you take her to the bar, you can meet her in the living room
Do you mean you can't get the party? that happens on fridays at 18:00, go to the kitchen and have dinner with the family
Those are the two events you need to do to upgrade either Diane or Becky but there are other requirements such as Lust like you mentioned
There are many ways to meet those requirements just make sure to avoid doing actions that actually get them off
You gotta give them blue balls for a while lol

I don't remember the requirements out of the top of my head so i can't say if something is off but following the hint on her character screen worked for me
I was talking to a tester and for some reason when he was trying to switch Gina's AT the option didn't appear when her lust was at 100 but after he lowered it to 50 (which was the value on the hint) the option was there
Might be a long shot but without looking at your save and messing around with it i can't say what is wrong
Especially since i can't seem to remember what her requirements are lol

I have ALL the requirements.
I tried to delete old rot gut whiskey thinking it was bugged, bought new ones, now I will try to get her relationship below 100 and above 80, same for lust... Damn I'm unlucky.
