It do be like that sometimes. Some people never get used to it and they make sure to let everyone know... frequently... :HideThePain:
I pop in like once every few months, so I miss a lot that goes on, that however means a game I've been following has either received multiple updates or a game has been abandoned.

The best thing is not to get too invested in this, its a different thing if you're supporting the devs through like patreon and been issued no update, and payments have not been halted.

So is this game abandoned?
If you read the site rules a game gets an abandoned tag when a dev offers no communication or update information for a certain period of time, not sure how long, a number of months. The game could or could not be actually abandoned, but that's the reason for the tag. Should an update drop, the tag will be changed.

As for the game, it falls into the same category of all games (and there are many of them) that go extended periods between updates. It is flat out anyone's guess. This happens because there is no way to assign a "standard" to the creation process. Most of these devs are independent, so absolutely everything is different from 'studio' to 'studio', including talent and work ethic. My best advice is play these games like you live out your days. Enjoy every update you can get, and savor it as if it were your last one. Because honestly, no one ever knows.

I'm just disappointed that the game is tagged abandoned, I also know that there are games that are updated after 1 year but they update news monthly, but for V19 I haven't seen anything since October last year. I think the possibility of this game being dead is quite high.

Are we still on track for that June release fellas? Anyone on his Discord hears any updates? :HideThePain:
The last update on discord was exactly a month ago where V19 mentioned something about a "complicated situation". They then went on to say something about completing part of it to at least get something released.

Still waiting of course.

My theory on why this seems to happen so often is I think many of the great games that get abandoned were being made by perfectionists. Being like that myself about some things I know just how easy it is to get stuck in your own head about every tiny detail which can lead to no progress being made eventually.

While on the flipside the shitty games are being made by people who just don't give a fuck and will churn out whatever, quality be damned.
I think that happens more than people think. Especially with reboots.

Artists/Dev grow in skill and are then horrified at their own creation and want to get it up to a standard they find acceptable. So they do a reboot...
Unfortunately, it's almost never what the fans want.

The two best examples I can think off.
Ren'Py - Abandoned - Reincarnotica [v0.05] [Polyrotix] | F95zone | Adult Games | Comics | Mods | Cheats
This game was literally rewritten/rebooted from the start about 3-4 times.

Ren'Py - Abandoned - False Hero [v0.39.1 Beta] [Enyo Eerie] | F95zone | Adult Games | Comics | Mods | Cheats
I know Polyrotix did not do a reboot, but his standards were so high that he just started putting himself under enormous pressure to deliver the next update. Getting more stressed and not being able to deliver. It's a personality trait.
