Message on patreon from 2 hours ago saying that unfortunately the writer has... (and that's all I could read for free).
Can anyone with access to that post clarify what it's about? :(

Writer for the game L7Bear had health issues and other game he was working on had been flagged on Patron so he is focused on rewrite of it right now. Suposedly he will get back to work on Lost at Birth next week. Since he didn't finished dialogs V19 stoped rendering some time ago because he cant render anything even for future updates without those dialogs fron L7Bear :):):) V19 hope that when L7Bear get back to work he can finish the update by the end of the month.

That is basicly the msg. I don't know much about creating a game but I know when someone try to bulshit me :):) Very sad but looks like abandon tag for this one is very likely scenario. A shame but it is what It is.

Thanks for sharing.
It's still very early into development and I think every new dev deserves at least the benefit of the doubt. Besides it hasn't even been 3 months since v.0.1. Let's wait for a bit before jumping to conclusions.

Level of concern increasing with the dreaded "health issues" update, as that's usually the kiss of death for abandoned games. Won't jump the gun yet, but not optimistic given the uncertainty of when writing can even begin.

Would have thought writing would have started for the next part a while ago given it's been 3 months now. Didn't even know L7Bear is writing on another game - anybody know what that is? Prioritizing another game this early on is not a good sign though.

Really hoping this doesn't get abandoned as it's got a lot of potential. Not being able to see Kailee eventually bedded after all that hype in development, and already missing out on Claire part 2 would just be

Say what? Sex scenes don't need much in terms of writing, so he can start rendering porn while he waits for the writer.

Yeah, that, and I would think there would at least be some kind of idea what would be happening in an upcoming part of the story, even if the specific details aren't known.

There are also some unavoidable tropes to render, like the shopping trip, the walk in the park, dinner...but the game has several girls ready for the dicking so you can start with that imo.

I knew, but then I forgot...

I do think that other game is a bit further in development than this one so it makes sense to prioritize that one.
As long as he's / they are working, the chance of real abandonment is relatively small in my opinion.

Abandoned tag doesn't mean anything, but I hope that the devs are smart enough to apply for "on hold" status rather than let it slip into "abandoned" status because that paints a pretty poor picture. Some other devs don't seem to care about any of that though...

There was title of the other game L7Bear is working in the patreon post but its not there anymore. I would not hold it against him about prioritazing it because as far as I heard he worked on it before Lost at Birth or even Our Fate Remake was a thing so its normal that he put most focus on it. I don't lost all hope yet but as it is right now it looks like this will be sooner or later abandoned. They are working on it for 7 months now ( the started in October or November 2021 I think? ) and we have about 1h-1,5h of content in 1 update so far and V19 dont even have enough dialogs to finish 1/3 of second chapter? I don't buy it :)

Hmm,another dev with healthy issues. It's like 10-20 around. Is it really so dangerous to create adult novels? Im scared that will outnumber the cases with MC having amnesia or dead father. Maybe is not bad idea for new VN to start with dev losing inspiration, feeling under pressure, deadline approaching and how he managed to fool everybody.

Maybe, but I do get the impression that aspiring devs think it's easy to do this besides their main job, or as an alternative to a normal job because they have reasons not to have a normal job. Such reasons may include health and/or age related issues.

Then they find out it is actually a lot of work and actually stressful and they end up getting burned out.

Just my amateur psychologist take on this matter...

Consider the scope of skills required to produce one of these games/VNs. Graphic skills, writing skills, programming skills, skills related to posing and scene layout. I'm highly experienced in pretty much all facets of software development and I have years of experience writing. I estimate that if I wanted to produce a VN, I'd have to spend 12-24 months learning the graphic tools, animation, and the general programming environment before I could produce a demo that I wouldn't be ashamed to release. Plus I'd have buy a system specifically to deal with renders, animations, and character creation, none of my current systems really lend themselves to that type of work. Also my creativity doesn't fall into creating images of beautiful women. My artistry doesn't fall into that space. So there is a very real possibility that I'd be unable to create the LIs I'd envisioned.

Many first time devs bite off far too much, not realizing what's going to be required to realize their vision. When reality lands it's easy to get discouraged.

Great start. This game is showing a lot of promise and I hope it is not going to get abandoned. Dialogues during sexy time needs tweaking but everything else is done extremely well.
