We have to agree to disagree.
I like games with frequent updates; 1-3 months in between. I don't forget what happened last time when I played it. If game has up to five updates, then OK, one per year could work... (but minimum 6 hours of gameplay per update)
I liked Now and Then... 26 updates. in 26 months. Each update 25+ minutes gameplay. It's more beautiful graphically then Lost at Birth? No... DAZ vs HS (I don't mine the engine, story is for me no.1 priority) It's not a fair commparason, but one autor make his second game while second autor tries to make v.0.3 of his game...
