Ideally, all the save slots are empty. I just haven't figured out yet how to make these slots empty when compiling the game. But not to worry man, you don't have to play from the saved game, just overwrite any slots you wish to save at along the way.

Lighting looked fine to me, even in the bus scenes. I've yet to delve into the newest public release but the previews for it look fine too.
