Or do you break them, leaving them without hope in despair. And then you should probably add to the mix that some of them might be turned on by humiliation, emotional pain or physical abuse. There is a lot of room to play here, and you can mix and match pretty much anything.

I guess I kind of dodged your question @n0b0dy to paint a general picture to @veqvil to draw inspiration from. As you say the dark mind is a hard thing to understand and the things we take pleasure from even stranger. We might like the same things for different reasons, or different things or the same reason.
Being to direct might be hard (if you go starting punching people out of the blue you probably will just scare them off) but you can still be direct in form of not hiding who you are and what you are after and then you can bend people with your words and actions (or be more brutal if you have leverage to play on or other things to exploit). If you can make people listen and seem important then you can make even the most reasonable thing seem reasonable. And as you get into their mind and life there many ways to take control. The instant physical obey me or I hurt you is something that I feel comes from porn where they rarely think of that there could be anything outside of the act of sex, where as taking control of someone is not about the sex, but what you have built before.

I feel like I should say a lot of what could attract people (from both sides) about those things, for as @n0b0dy describes when he talk about sadism, nothing is black and white here, but I have already rambled a lot here and I am a bit to tired to write about such complex things.. But I would like to add (and I am not saying that you dont know this @veqvil, I just feel like adding it) that even the most brutal dominance/submissive relationship could be built upon trust, happiness, safety and respect, even if those outside it would never believe it. For every twisted dominant sadist there is a depraved submissive masochist.
I understand that showing all these things in a game is impossible, but I just want to give @veqvil inspiration and understanding. The water is dark and deep, and can be hard to navigate, but it holds many wonders as well.

That was quite a good amount of different thoughts and ideas to set up the submission route. It also shows how big the variety is and that my vision of it (which can be found under one of your suggestions/examples), is just one of many.

The direct asshole thing is something I try to avoid, as I want to offer this more on the psychological part. Also, I totally agree with that "Do it or I hurt" thing as this is a little bland IMO, we are taking control of the whole character not just for one night XD.

Also, I'm pretty sure there's no perfect Submission route but I hope I'm able to get some scenes in there that members of TTDS can enjoy. With some of the dateable characters being turned on by humiliation/emotional pain and physical abuse I actually planned to make use of it, also one can "learn" to love it (depending on what you make them go through).

To me, this sadism as a genre can absolutely come from a loving respecting and kind relationship. Actually, I think that there must be so many loving couples out there who talk about their fantasies and try stuff like this. And that's where I got you covered XD.

You can go the Love route with having Psy specced! That's something I tried to show in this Matrix I created a while ago. (Psy for good purposes/enhancing the sexual life and Psy to make someone submissive).

That's what I love about this forum, we have people here who really want to show their ideas and perspective and for a Dev this is paradise but I do agree that it can be tiring sometimes, so maybe having discord is a way to have fun nights discussing stuff like that XD
