Maybe a little more attention could help you, the only interesting woman in the game (for me and many) is the mother, I had the chance to express the interest through the options in game, and at the end of the demo you're presented with the situation that the only 'love' interest is going to meet some rich guy who is mixing a work related interview with a date...

Really it doesn't take much to see where that situation is going, quid pro quo, being pressure to start a personal relationship so a job interview goes well... I guess some people need to see genitals on genitals to realize tho.

Now I don't really know where you get the idea that the other person is "some rich guy who is mixing work related interview with a date". I first thought that was just an example but maybe that's the source of the confusion.

Reading through my own script there isn't a lot of information that says something about the date.

If you didn't compliment Amy you will end up in a sequence where she talks about Mira or where the MC asks her if she has an idea who the date could be. Amy responds that she has no clue and MCS suggestion goes like "Maybe it's someone from work." (It doesn't have to be a work interview as Carol seems to have a job already, it's likely more a colleague from work).

While having a breakfast she mentions that she might be late for her appointment, while one might think this could be work-related stuff, I wanted her to use this term to show that she is not very comfortable with dating and doesn't talk freely about it. Also once you pick "not happy about her dating", she immediately feels guilty and questions her actions. Again I wanted to show how unsure she is about dating and sort of requires support from you to have a successful date.

In the end, I sort of see some spots where one can be led to speculate in a completely wrong direction. Something I will fix through more content .

I really liked this demo. Showed real promise and think i'm going to rearrange my pledges a bit and support this one. A very good start all in all and good luck going forward with this.

I think the game already shows great promise! I especially liked the model of Amy, what a beaut! Her distinctive face really sets her apart from most girls in this genre and I really appreciate that. She also kind of looks like a girl I had a crush on in high school so maybe I am not totally unbiased.

Personally I am always glad to see the woman in these kind of games take a interest in men that aren't the MC. When characters are written to serve as a sex toy for the MC only they become bland and boring quickly. Characters are just so much sexier if they at least sort of resemble real people.

Also I had to laugh out like when I clicked on the computer and it said: "Nah, I don't wanna watch porn today." Like there are no other uses for a pc x'D

I also enjoy characters who are not "written to serve as a sex toy". Kinda gives some sort of itch to see how they react. Also having 2 main routes and one being a romantic one I don't think it makes much sense if there is instant sex on the first sight.

I believe DS is a she, but her true crime wasn't adding ntr, it was doing it out of the blue. Saddo put a ntr tag on his new game, "The Tyrant " and nobody complained. That's how you do it. He even made it completely optional, so that even folks that don't like ntr, like me, can still enjoy his game.

Nahh, the thing that pissed everyone off about BB was that you couldn't avoid that path 3 months, and even trying to curtail it was immediately punished. Some people complained early on that voyeurism wasn't their thing, but it was really only when the "fuck you for trying" paths were implemented that people started boiling over. Adding those showed a deep misunderstanding of game development, in my opinion: while there is a successful story structure predicated on adversity - what Vonnegut called "man falls down hole" - the whole point of that narrative is the climb, and that's exactly what was missing.

However, this game does look like it will eventually add a mild form of NTR, and so, the dev could add it to "planned fetishes". I can also see an argument against doing that, namely that the dev isn't familiar enough with the genre to advertise such. It's really early to say where the mom's boyfriend routes will go - who knows, he could try to fuck your sister, he could end up your puppet via proxy, or he could be a cool guy who gets you a job and teaches you about clothes - so it's about as valid to speculate about netorare as it is to speculate about edgeplay.

I totally stand behind your given argument not to add this sensitive tag alongside the others. You definitely hit the nail on the head, I'm not familiar with this NTR stuff at all (except for a corrected "definition") and advertising something you don't fully understand will lead to disappointment very likely.

The small bits I do understand about NTR, are elements I don't want in my game and therefore stated, that LaS won't contain any NTR. There will be optional MMF, cuckold and so on but nothing where a side character totally takes the initiative to have sex with a dateable character.

I want the influence of the player to cause that. Now with Carol's date, it's up to you if you meet him or never hear of him again which certainly depends on what choices you picked and what you want to see.

Denying him and wanting to spy on her having sex would be a conflicted situation (obviously).

I'm thinking about adding some short news of the game development to this thread, but I certainly don't want my patrons to feel like they are being ripped off since they are the backbone of this project alongside my passion to create games.

Actually no, but you can make other male characters go for others if you encourage them to and ONLY if you encourage them, so it's impossible to experience something like this out of the blue.

Why discuss this in a TALK post? Well, it is certainly game related but in this case, I feel, it has more to do with me and the way I see stuff like this.

In short: Nope! There won't be NTR in LaS.

Long version: To get on the same page here is a "definition" of NTR (Thanks to R.W. for posting this on the community tab):

"Japanese acronym for Netorare, used to define a genre of Eroge (Hentai Game), meaning "Cuckold". In short, the main protagonist's loved one(s) are taken or seduced away from him and the heroine might be willing or unwilling. This is to cause an emotion of deep jealousy on the reader."

Now personally I don't find this enjoyable nor disgusting (many others seem to hate this) but I'm 100 percent sure that if you hate it and experience something like this out of the blue, the game experience is ruined.

This is not going to happen in LaS, there won't be even one scene that causes such emotions of deep jealousy. If you accidentally get there it would but that's nearly impossible unless you blindly click the choices (and even then, it's unlikely).

If you like to observe and spy around (e.g. Tech specialization) you can definitely see others have "fun". To me, that's not NTR since you have to plan it out and encourage the other guy.

I really hope this clears up any confusion about NTR in LaS. In the upcoming DEV News #8...

Well, I partly agree, in the long run, I have to let my game speak for itself anyway, but having NTR tagged while offering no NTR sounds worse to me.

@veqvil I completely agree with you. I know that there is no ntr in the game (i mean at least that you can't avoid) but here even the fact that your mother has a date could be a problem LOL.

It is up to you. I can remove the tag of course, but you must be prepared at some complains in future. Just let me know. It's your game after all.
