To be fair, I doubt the dev had much of a plan before, as someone with a whole story laid out wouldn't just abandon it so early like that. And while I can't 100% confirm that's what happened, given the whole brothel thing was removed, it's safe to assume the backlash was what got the game remade.

And while I'm also not a fan of having prostitutes as LIs, it would at least be something to shake the status quo, which this current build desperately needs. If your whole story is gonna boil down to "getting closer to girls", you need damn solid writing skills to make that interesting, which this dev clearly doesnt have.

Episode 2 is honestly a big step up, I actually enjoy just going through the MC’s days — slower pace, little moments, that kinda quiet intimacy. Like when Miy well, the mom character takes care of you. Stuff like that just works. It’s not trying to shock anymore, and honestly that feels way more grunded.

As much as I love the character models, this story really is a nothing burger. I get that the prostitution thing wasn't everyone's cup of tea, including me, but at least it felt like it would go somewhere. Since the remake its just a succession of mundane interactions, less than beliavable sexy moments, tied together by subpar writing.

Also, I'm pretty sure these last animations were done with AI.

With the brothel you had something to wonder about. How will this evolve? Will it affect MC's day to day life? Will he try to hide it from his fam or will they find out and how? What will the consequences be? etc.

Now you get to think about where the next exciting interaction and talking about his boring life will be. In the kitchen? The corridor? Or even... some park somewhere? The possibilities are truly endless.

Don't get me wrong, the first build didn't have good writing either, but it seemed like it was building up to some goal or conflict. You can take a lot of the load off the dialogue if there's a bigger plot to follow. As the game currently stands, the entire focus is on poorly written conversations and nonsensical situations.
