I'm not sure if this has already been discussed, but Martha's storyline comes across as disjointed and inconsistent. Perhaps it's just me, but I can't seem to find any clear connection between her scenes. The story as a whole feels chaotic, but I've chosen to highlight Martha in particular because her issues seem more apparent and easier to critique. It truly caught my attention.
Her whole character raises questions, with the whole "push-pull" routine she loves doing with the MC. On one hand she pushes him away and warns against doing anything; on the other hand she teases him relentlessly to see if he will ignore her words. You'd expect that on 2 types of characters: a) bratty younger women, b) super successful types who have been in control their entire life and now want to see how it feels when control is taken away from them through the actions of their partner. What's Martha's story? Well, she got left by her husband early on and juggled 3 jobs to raise her daughter as a single mother. Aka she's been kicked all the way down and should be the last woman who does this. And yet here we are.
My impression is that the developer doesn't do "game" but "scenes". Whatever is hot to him in the moment, he rolls with. At the start she wants to set him up with Alice, now the dev wants a dominant mommy so she threatens to feed him his balls if he touches her. We're in the middle of winter exchanging gifts, but he wants to do a scene with Martha soaked in sweat outside? Time skip, who gives a fuck.
Is what it is, the individual scenes are very hot, but don't expect any coherence now or in the future. One day they will have a talk about the importance of choosing your future career, the next day pixies will invade and steal all their clothes. Just roll with it.
