At the moment I have about 700 renders done for the next update and one path of the next update is almost completely covered with renders.
I have a few renders left to finish for this path, and I need to make renders for alternate branches of some events or dialogues.
I'm pretty satisfied with the progress lately but I rather not give an estimate for the time needed to complete the next update, because I've found several times that I'm terrible at this kind of estimation and at estimating the amount of content that needs to be completed.
As for the story, in addition to the paranormal plot, you can look forward to major progress towards a relationship with Dana or Jane in the next update, depending on the choices you make.
But there are more than two ways these things can progress.

While I'm working on renders for the other branches of the various events, I'm going to make a non-public proofreading update for one complete path of the upcoming updates 3 Chapter 3, part 1).

It's quite a bit of content. It took my wife about 4 hours to get through this path in Chapter 3: Part 1. But she read the texts slowly because she was helping me find typos. I estimate that at normal reading speed it can take anything between an hour and two to get through the new content.

The final version may add a few extra renders in this path and some minor text edits, but otherwise the renders and text for this path are complete.

It's one of the paths where MC picks Dana as his romantic interest and makes choices that cause the path to be a little crazy at some points.

This non-public test update will work so that at the beginning of Chapter 3, the variables will be set as if the MC had chosen certain specific options in Chapters 1 and 2.
Chapter 3 will be in kinetic novel mode in this test update (except for the ability to skip one event), meaning that only one option is available at each branching point.
But of course, when the full version of Chapter 3: part 1 is done, all branches will be unlocked and a few days after the release to my patrons, it will be available to the public.

This is just a short status update to let you know I'm still alive and working on my VN when I have time. I currently have 816 renders done for the next update, one path completely covered with renders, and I'm working on renders for other branches of some events.
My offer of an opportunity to try one complete path from the next update in kinetic novel mode, which I mentioned in my last post, still stands.

No problem. Not everyone enjoys proofreading and providing feedback.
In general, I'm looking for the type of feedbacks like finding plot holes or sentences that sound extremely strange from a native speaker's point of view.
The non-public update containing one of Dana's paths in the kinetic novel mode is here, so if anyone is interested in trying out that branch, I can share it with them.

Guys, you know what is the worst part of development? That situation where almost all the sexy content for the next update is done and what's left is to create renders where the characters are dressed.
Well, most of the renders involve dressed characters because the story requires it, I have most of them done. But the best part of the development, along with writing the dialogue, is creating the sexy renders.

I still believe that one day the update will be here. But like every lazy developer, I went through COVID, which slowed me down a lot.
Now honestly... I really had COVID, it was just a minor nuisance for a few days, but since then I'm a bit tired and don't have much energy for any creative activity after my day job and after I put my kids to bed in the evening. So there's been no progress with my VN for the last couple of weeks.
But now I am working on it again, although not very intensively. I still don't dare promise any specific release date, because besides being a developer, I'm also an adult games player, and I know that constant broken promises about release dates are sometimes a bit frustrating. So all I can promise is that my intention is to finish this update and continue with the next one. And I hope that from "it's almost done" to actual release it will be a little faster than one of my favorite adult VNs, Offcuts, where that "the update is almost done" phase takes about two years.
Karma is a bitch, and waiting ages for updates of a few of my favourite VNs is definitely punishment for my pace of development.
If there's anyone here who likes Love, Demons and Broken Nose, I feel for you because I know the pain.

The development is kind of stagnant now because I have to deal with some problems in my life, like too much money.

Well, it's not so much to invest in buying another decent apartment, but it's too much to let it sit in my checking account when we have annual inflation over 11% and still growing.

So at the moment my free time is pretty much taken up with studying stock markets, ETFs, technical analysis etc..

But once I make a few (ir)responsible investments and get tired of CFD gambling with small amounts of money to win or lose a few dollars in a few minutes, I suppose I'll have more time to develop again.
I'm quite enjoying this stuff at the moment, but in the long run, pussies and titties are more fun than things like Fibonacci retracement, Ichimoku and MACD.

It's just that the new F95zone rules say that a certain amount of time without an update = abandoned tag.
So I suppose the tag will stay until the update is ready.
After some time gambling with stocks, I'm starting to devote more of my free time to development again ... at least until the bear market is over.

It's not that I've stopped playing those stock games, but I'm playing them less now than I was a month or two ago.

I am still alive and working on this VN when I have the time and the drive to do so.
Since I'm not planning any monetization any time soon, I've removed my Patreon tiers so I don't have to pause billing every month.
I'm currently working on adding additional content to an upcoming update that I hadn't originally planned. That content is part of Dana's path, but there are certain conditions that the player must meet in order to see this content.

Besides, there is still some work to be done in the rest of the content of the update.

Guys, I know most of you at this point don't believe I'll ever finish this update, but I'm actually racing against stencilbits if I finish the Love, Demons and Broken Nose update first or he finishes the Offcuts update first.
Well, he doesn't know me and he doesn't know I'm racing, which gives me some chance as his update is almost complete.
Anyway, if I win this race I'll be happy and if I lose this race I'll be happy too because that would mean the Offcuts update is here.

Now seriously: My work on the game isn't exactly intense at the moment, but I'm still doing a few renders here and there with the honest intention of completing the update.

I am glad it isn't really abandoned, I finally got to playing this game, went through the rest of the mods I had missed, and this game was one of them, and really liked the first two chapters, so had to see if it really was no more or not.
