I was literally thinking last week, that this story has one too many parallels with forest gump

Another plot point that could very likely go dark is lacey's addiction problems. We have seen her struggle and have minor relapses, but not a full hard relapse. I have known alot of addicts of various drugs in real life. Most of them have tried to get better, but many have hit rock bottom/relapsed hard for months at some point after many minor struggles before they either really got better or succumbed to their addiction.
-mentioned many times how she still struggles with addiction
-has had several relapses since they have been married
-has king weekend fetish to repeat three weeks on ketemine from junior year only with MC (almost certainly would go bad and result in hard relapse)
-mia just showed up with a backpack full of ketamine....never mentioned in the story what happened to it
-vegas trip (what happens in vegas stays in vegas, access to all sorts of drugs)
-lacey looses herself when she is in her "k hole" and doesn't think clearly of remember most of what happened

I am not suggesting lacey would necessarily die in the story from the suicidal or drug addiction angles mentioned in the story (wouldn't fit the together tiil the end/healing the dev suggests will happen). But the story likely could go in the direction for a while with the writing troupe of "just when things get better, everything started falling apart" before the real healing between them begins.

I said before that in the vegas trip we will have either the first sharing scene or threesome, and im almost sure that it will be with Mia (Then she confesses her quinceañera to Lacey). Or that the pimp takes Lacey drinking/getting high and lets her slut around just enough to make sure MC caughts her (one way or another). So she can say that Lacey has not changed from her past self. One last attempt to break the relationship.
I would be really surprised if none of those didnt happen.

The dev kinda has to though if he wants more drama with lacey. The only other options are
-she is forced and has to be saved
-she is really an evil mastermind who is manipulating everyone in the story for some weird end goal (doesn't match the healing together angle)
*edit* or lacey becomes depressed/suicidal/uses katamine again after her plan to share the MC with the girls backfires horribly in some way.
otherwise it will be just lacey fucking up or loosing herself in her problems and needing to be saved (matches the MC not being able to turn his back on someone with problems/issues)

With the exception of Kelly (and that remains to be seen), the rest are just pleasurable chains keeping him placated.
The problem is that none of this a secret though. And that other side is implied to be something she wants to keep secret and only Mia maybe has seen it.
Suicide is definitely not secret, she is threatening with it every Tuesday.
Neither her being an extreme painslut is a secret. We see it in red bra and the punishment scenes and I think she has straight up said she likes really rough sex. So extreme and risky that the fool ran to the police station the first time she tried to induct him in it. You are not wrong and those are definitely paraphilias that are extremely common in abuse victims. But it's no secret.

I’m sure a lot of us feel similar to you and can’t get the story out of their mind, hence why we are filling the pages of this thread
The issue was venting directly to the dev, who seems to already have self-esteem issues, and i don’t want them disparaged by making our opinions sound worse than they are

As someone who felt adressed, like anyone here could. As long as it was just a bad choice of words, apology accepted.
Just be carefull, the Dev already felt overburned by the story, we wouldnt want him to belive that theres people making fun of him or similar and make him abandon the game. Just be carefull in the future.

I wasn't a fan of the post on Patreon. I thought some of the points misrepresented the community's views. This is my favorite game on this site. If you think you can do better, as you suggested when you told the Professor to PM you if they are interested in hearing how to "fix the story", then by all means, make your own game on here. Or publish a mod for this game with your own dialogue, reusing the assets that's already on it.
As my 83 year old uncle said on patreon, it is all good.
I understand your frustration, and honestly you made some ok points there, the pimp , MC weakness etc.
It is just that you went in pretty heavy on the "the story is fucked" hammer.
In the end it is the author story, and I want to believe he's doing the best he can, it is going to be pretty painful to read such a comment especially if you misrepresent our "constructive criticism" and "having fun" as shredding.
Look at all the effort we poured into this: timelines, choices map and even a possible "find Lacay lies" file that might come out.
Why would we waste so much time with a "fucked" game, we are not masochists (as far as I know).

The pimp is how the character Mia is called around here, due to her hand in ruining Lacey and MC past, present and future.
I will edit this post later to list some of her sins, again, so we do not forget what a horrible human being the author has conjured.

She found a broken and traumatized girl with no friends in college, and she proceeded to decide that her "cure" would be to become a human toilet.
She did not bother to learn about Lacey, she just went with her idea, pushing her to do more and more no matter the damages.
She admits that her "treatment" gave Lacey mental and emotional damage, yet she never questioned her methods and doubled down even harder.
In all this, she never tried her own treatment, reserving all the degrading and life ruining stuff for Lacey.
Having gangbangs and giving 50 handjobs is not a recipe for healing.
Lacey is mentioned to being treated like shit by most of her partners, yet the pimp never intervened and still made arrangements for the hookups.
We discover later that her pushing Lacey to do more and more was actually for herself, so that she could overcome her trauma, this shows extreme disregard for Lacey's well being.
When confronted she deflects often, citing her "hundreds of collaborators" e.i. the folks that fucked Lacey.
She says that cleaning Lacey from the spunk actually shows how much she cared, it doesn't, it just show you were taking care of the merchandise.
When Lacey tried to get sober, she pushed her towards drugs and degrading herself again, as a last 'hurrah' with isaac (so it was fun for her at least , you dont do last hurrahs for bad stuff).
She presented info about Lacey to MC in the cruelest way possible, avoiding confrontstion and forcing MC to fester on his feelings, ruining any possibility of facing the facts as husband and wife properly.
And she is not even remorseful about that.
She is happy and excited when Lacey gets sexually assaulted.
Only changes her tune when caught red handed.
She does not support Lacey in any way aside from some gaslighting directed at MC, she wants to see her crash and burn.
No support in uncovering the past to MC just more damage, no support during the present just empty words and schemes.
Derails Kelly's life to create more problems for Lacey and MC.
Not happy with the first attempt of ending MC marriage, that left him scarred for life, she does it a second time.
But this time she also brings drugs to Lacey, a recovering addict.
After causing a PTSD episode to MC because she jokes about Lacey's past like it is a fun thing, even in front of her boss and her husband (which makes us understand that it WAS fun for her) she keeps on trying to do the sane during MC special weekend.
Fails to accept responsibility, deflects and talks about filters.
I am sure I am missing something.
The fact that she is even allowed to talk to Lacey or to MC and that Anna, Veronica and now Christine consider her a friend is the worst thing in this story by far.
Whatever the author wanted to do with her character has failed, unless he wanted to create the worst person in modern history

I called her a prostitue because as the MC states in 2 different conversations, she literally sold herself to Jared for a 'few dollars' (the job). She may not have done anything sexually ...but she did effectively whore herself out for money.

The line in that second pic is the core of her character. Which is why it baffles me anyone would take into account any explanation/justification she gives about any of her actions and use in their arguments.
Since everything she says should be seen under the prism of that line, any possible justification about an action that could maybe have pushed him away, should be taken as a lie by default. It's just logic...
The worst thing about act 2 is how he regressed. Act 1 ends with him realizing this simple fact about her, but in act 2 it just goes away and he keeps blaming himself and his jealousy....
By the way this whole sequence was beautiful manipulation writing. It's the kind of fake "fault admission" a narcissist often does, but with very clever wording (a form of), to defuse and misdirect. It shuts down confrontation, while still maintaining control of the situation.
