This is the beauty of using URM guys. Use it with nearly every VN, doesn't alter files, doesn't bork saves when new updates are out. Change variables on the fly and as required when they appear.

I'm by no means a master with it, but i'm using URM.
Never saw a path pop-up for that specific case though, probably overlooked it

We dont know. In theory after the Augusta game, the Dev said it would be back to working on the stablished games, either On the Mountain top or Love & Jealosy. Since the game On the mountain top is on hold for now and with the conversation that he maybe will include some videos in the future of L&J, it seems that he is gonna work on Act 3 of L&J but it was never said directly.
EDIT: I did not see Dios' post for some reason, so sorry for essentially repeating their post lol
The dev has mentioned before that they plan to alternate releases, so chapter of AHFWG and then a chapter of L&J. Of course, they could always change their mind, but to the best of my knowledge, they will start working on L&J Act 3 pretty quickly after Act 1 of AHFWG is released

But, if you want a somewhat “rational” explanation…
Lacey is messed up in the head.
In the same way a “normal” person can’t really grasp how a narcissist, sociopath, or psychopath thinks, those people don’t fully grasp how “normal” people think either…
In the story…Lacey has disassociated sex and love, or more specifically sex and abuse/trauma.
She doesn’t fully grasp how the MC feels/thinks just as the MC (and everyone else) doesn’t know exactly how Lacey is thinking/feeling…
Her lashing out at Kelly was Lacey fearing the MC leaving her (Lacey) for the obviously more “normal” and perfect Kelly, who isn’t/wasn’t in Lacey’s sphere of influence/control. Lacey feels confident MC isn’t going to leave her for the others, but Kelly is/was the wildcard…
Lacey knows Kelly is the “backup plan”, whatever that ultimately means, we don’t know for sure, yet…

I find the hypothesis that Winifred is the monster very interesting. She has been a character present in the story for a long time, even though she has never actually been there. This would make sense. As for the doubts I have read in the thread, for me the monster has proven to be a hacker. He knew that MC had been in the park for 8 hours from his phone's GPS. So once the monster got into MC's phone, he automatically knew which other phones he needed to hack to o get information, including Mia's, and he could have got the drug information from her phone. From Mia, Anna, Lacey and Veronica's phones, he could have known to keep an eye on Will, etc.
What I don't understand is: if it's Winifred, why did she become attached to MC and decide she wanted to protect him?

I think that Winifred is going to be a key to the whole story. Accountants actually know a whole lot about computers because computers are their primary tool. Also, Professor Amethyst is a really good writer, there is no reason to include Winifred unless she is going to play a part. Another reason to watch her character is because of the way the MC treats her. He really dislikes her? Why would that be? The MC befriends people who have done really despicable things to him but the person he really dislikes is the accountant who apparently can't understand something and that drives him to hate her? The way the MC treats Winifred is a huge red flag to let us know something else is going on.
Do we know anything about the MC's family especially his mother? How would his family have reacted to Lacey as a child? Surely no one would have turned a blind eye to a little girl who was being abused or was that hidden from them by the MC ?
There are a whole lot of things to ponder.

There was no irony or sarcasm, professional accountants (not to be confused with bookkeepers) really know their way around computers.

Accountants dont really know much about computers by their work(Personal interest is another thing). Only thing from their work really tied to computer is excel and things like that. To go from a spreadtable of money expenses to hack some phone from a supossed IT dude and saying its because of work knowledge is quite a stretch.
Its like saying a truck driver can design a Formula 1 because they have a motorized vehicles as their main job tool.

Some might. Just because one uses a computer for work, doesn't mean shit when it comes to knowing how they work, other software, networks or anything else. They are good with the software they use. To think otherwise is literally quite delusional. Many of the most professional people I know and have met are some the dumbest mothers I've also met and can't even open the bonnet on their car, let alone know shit about computers.
Thanks though, been a bit down on the site of late, this was the funniest shit I've read here for a while.

But thats personal interest, not work related knowledge as it was sugested. Nothing on the skills necesary to be an accountant gives anyone the knowledge to hack.
If you who, as a programmer who has knowledge on how different software language works, dont have all the skills required imagine someone who mostly only deals with Excel and pretty much nothing else on the computer.
If Winnifred is the hacker, it is by personal interest, nothing to do by been an accountant.

see thats why im saying the monster is the MC's non emotional alternate personality that exists solely for MC's survival.he already has access to his own phone as well as all the girls, full access to his entire companies network. he also has the resources to do some basic hacking into people Lacey works with that are problematic to him. either by using his resources at work, or his access to people who have management type access to Laceys work. Christine and jared, jared's wife, veronica brings her work laptop and phone to his house multiple times.
really the only stretch is why his personality would be cryptic about shit. then again how would you manage telling your other personality that your whacked in the head and worse all your friends and loved ones are actively trying to ruin you, even if its not intentional. so still makes sense to me.
though the accountant lady makes the most sense, mainly to give her a point of existing in the story beyong a couple statements about the MC not liking her, which up to now is pointless considering no other characters thrown into the mix in parts 1 or 2 have been inconsequential, meaning they all had at some point an important role screwing over the MC in some way.
i just really like MC being the monser cause he asked when do i get to be the monster before the monsters first appearance.
