I am trying to rebuild the order of events, because I trust the timeline provided by Crysus but I have a nagging feeling that I can't explain.
Barty got a message to randomly show up. I want to say that NTR villains got blackmail on him or something. Maybe they knew Lacey used because the security cameras, so then they made Barty do that while knowing Lacey was high?

The message to show up is tied to Jared as far as we know, same as Isaac and Lorenzo.

Clearly they have a way to either listen or look inside Mc house if Barty came with the video equipment.
Maybe they placed the K themselves since they have access to the apartment.

Barty is very mellow and apologetic in the messages to Mc when he is asked to get the hot tub videos.

So I am still wondering if the video happened before the first "apology" or before him showing up drunk, it seems unlikely it happened after, but Crysus might be right.

Tbh I think this storyline was kind of "attached" as an afterthought, the Barty arc was done in act 1.
Let's see where it goes.

Whooooooooooooh what a ride. Excellent writing, but DAMN there's a lot of it. And not nearly enough sexy times with all the bombshells.

People how could I miss this! HOW!

You remember that I am looking at moments that show that Lacey was having a lot of fun in college.

King weekend:
"All four of the girls laugh loudly and take a drink."
M "We're girls and we went to college."
V "Yeah, that's pretty much a standard part of college life."
MC "Well... no reason to rub it in."
MC "I believe that makes me the winner of this turn."
L "It does."

This obviously is one of the points I bring up when I discuss my point about her not being completely honest.
But read the highlighted part.

Either this is a bad writing mistake or Lacey actually laughed in front of everyone.
We had confirmation in act 1 that she never laughed with anyone but MC, not even with her pimp.

M "You... you laugh?"
M "I've never heard you laugh."
L "Up until right at that moment..."
L "I've never laughed with anyone but [MCFirst]."
L "And only when we're alone."

I feel like I found the holy grail, I am just ashamed it took me so long to do it.

I would add to this that MC saying that underlines how much of his life has been wasted and his friends (more importantly, his wife) laugh in his face.
No regret or sadness from Lacey in this one (even though she was sad about this being only his second party ever the night before)
Everyone loves MC, nobody gives a damn about MC.

Good catch...while saw the dialogue it never really stuck with me until now.

Makes the whole ignore the MC daily for more than 4 years (bar the day Anna got hold of her) sting even more really doesn't it?

This could be explained in a few ways, but I'd put money on it being a small writing mistake. Writers aren't perfect, and the context of the 2nd time she laughs doesn't seem very impactful. It was just a way to describe a response to a "duh" question. However, here are some possible explanations

1.) This is from a question MC directly asked. She is with the man she is comfortable with, and she laughed with him. Except this time, other people were present
2.) Quite a bit of time has passed between those two events. Lacey has been attending therapy, so maybe it's a sign that it's she's improving?
3.) Laughing out of having fun is a bit different than laughing at a dumb question. One is more out of surprise (similar to how Lacey's laugh that you referenced was out of severe discomfort)
4.) MC could have seen Lacey laughing on the inside. If he's the only one she laughs with, maybe he can just tell when she finds something funny, even if she isn't verbal with it
5.) MC is an unreliable narrator as said from the beginning. He heard a bunch of laughter, got a bit embarrassed that it was so obvious for them, but he didn't do it. So in his mind, he just considered that everyone laughed at it

Totally does, it is my mission to uncover all that, as long as the author will give us hints.
And I hope he does, because it is a major plot point.

But the laugh man, the laugh!

Could the author really forget a crucial part such as Lacey being unable to laugh in front of people besides MC?
It is brought to attention just a few moments before when the MC makes a joke about francis and the day before when MC meets Lacey during the private meetings with the girls.
In that moment MC notices that she laughed 2 times that day, a rare occurrence.

And yet it is squandered like this?

Not that MC wouldn't want Lacey to feel safe and be able to laugh also with her friends, but it is another things stripped from them.
Also, nobody notices or comments????

I think this has to be a writing mistake.
If you read above, the fact that Lacey laughed with Jared is treated like a HUGE thing.
No way no one noticed, no matter the circumstances.

Even if she attended therapy there is a dialogue that I pointed above, MC and her discuss about her being able to laugh two times in a a single day, always only with Mc.

The emotional implications of the dialogue are still heavy, laugh or not.
Bad friends.

Hiya,

So I did a thing... As mentioned I've been working on a compressive timeline the last days and was hoping to put it up for peer review.
DeviantFun Maviarab AL.d baconsmoke I would particularly appreciate your thoughts on the matter

I've categorised event in three different categories where possible: MC Events, Lacey Events and combined/marriage events.
I've also made clear separations for the Prelude, Act 1 and Act 2. I've also underlaid various year long time frames, e.g. freshman year, 1st year of marriage etc.
Events that are lined up above one another mean they happen on the same day, or for vaguer time frame like college concurrently.

Most event have additional notes, including specific or relative time and dates,
If you have any thoughts on improving visibility of important events or highlighting certain aspects, feel free to suggest.
If you have any specific corrections or if I left anything out, please DM me, preferably with a reference, so it doesn't get lost in this chat.
A paths outline/walkthrough would probably be too much in this and think should be saved for another document, but I am open to suggestions.

The hardest event I had placing was when Barty could have recorded the little bitch audio from Lacey.
It had to be before the other known ketamine use with the practical jokes, as Lacey had to have found her stash before that on the day of the recording. But at the same time Barty references what he said to MC on his last visit about blow jobs, but that just might have been postproduction scripting.

Anyway, please enjoy
I just really want to know how to have a lunch date with my little ginger princess.
So far I haven't been able to tell if selecting any of the other interests blocks your lunch. And, what is the favour she wanted MC denied her before producing the spreadsheet. I know she says she'll ask again, but I really want to know.

Yeah, I feel a little fortunate that I didn't discover this game until like 4 weeks ago, right before Act 2 released because I didn't have to wait very long to think about things.

I think there are some literary reasons for the kiss, but I still wish that the kiss itself was optional like the rest of it.
From dialogue, it seems like MC is more jealous over the kiss than the sex itself (imo). Lacey also doesn't seem to enjoy kissing other people with the "Why did you ask me to do that?" and "...I absolutely want that erased from my mind". Sure, Lacey is so turned on from her jealousy kink that she'll do anything for MC, including kissing someone. However, I think the kiss damages both of them, and I think that it's them sort of discovering a limit for NTS scenarios where I believe that future instances of MC making her kiss someone will result in loss of good guy points
I really wanted to be able to end that scene prior to the kiss. I was screaming at him to end it and get the result that had been planned for.

To get the lunch date, you hae to text her in Act 2 and then say yes when the option is presented

We don’t know what the favour is yet, presumably comes in Act 3

Yes that is the reason.

I am pretty sure, I read the script in the important parts and also searched for "wedding" and "anniversary".

I can look again but I am sure that the intro of act 1 and the fact that MC starts talking about events in the present tense has to place the anniversary around that point.

I can check again later also in the phone calls and messages.
But I think you are placing the anniversary too late, I mean, coming up means a couple of weeks, right?

My theory, based on pure speculation, is that the Pimp got the K from familiar voice.
And that this could backfire somehow this why MC work will be harder.

Familiar voice seems to be flush with product.

Granted she already has the drugs when MC is supposed to stop her, so it doesn't fit perfectly.
Jared is a drug dealer that sold to Jeanette's sister and Mia in college.
Mia and Jared have been partners in literal crime since day 1.
As for the other stuff like feeling safer with strangers I could probably answer
but no one cares what I think and a mod will just delete it.

Neitehr Lacey nor Mia knew Jared before. They did not go to the same college (and probably aren't even similar ages) and if they did, at the same time, why didn't he just fuck her then hmmm?

Silken...please...just stop. I've said it before, go and get some fresh air and stay off the computer for a few days. Not healthy for you.

Careful not to drive yourself insane over this, man — I think you might be giving the author too much credit by trying to connect all these dots. You're searching for hints and deeper meaning where, frankly, I don’t think there was any long-term planning at all.

The game feels emotionally intense — that’s its strength — but I really doubt the dev is tracking every past line or psychological implication. Especially when he writes shock-heavy scenes, coherence tends to go out the window.

You’re falling into the same trap many of us have: taking the emotional weight of a moment seriously, only to later realize it’s probably just collateral from a scene designed for max drama, not consistency.

This isn’t a puzzle box. It’s a roller coaster.
And sometimes the tracks don’t line up.

This is my biggest worry/issue (and I've often slated the writing 'skills' here and in ODS). It is entirely possible, as we have both suggested before, that an actual lack of skill/competence has created so many holes and discussion points. If this is the case, nothing will be 'solved' or understood/figured out, because there really is nothing to figure out because none of it is done on purpose, it's just a complete fucking mess of inconsistencies.

The dev is apparently a professional screen writer, so i give him the benefit of doubt and put more stock in the writing than i usually would

That, I would seriously question...though if he works for the AFI...it's a pretty low bar to using as some kind of achievement in my opinion. Given the shit that comes out in cinema these days, I actually would not be surprised.

I get where you're coming from, and honestly, I respect the fact that you're giving him the benefit of the doubt. The guy clearly has talent — I’d never call him a bad writer. But I really think his strategy leans way more on raw emotional impact than on narrative coherence.

A lot of professional screenwriters operate like that, especially in drama-heavy projects. They aim for high-intensity moments first, and only worry about stitching it all together later — if at all. That’s what I keep seeing in this game: powerful scenes that feel important in the moment, but often contradict or ignore previous threads. It’s not necessarily incompetence... it just feels like coherence isn’t his top priority.

Eeeeeeexactly my friend!

And it is why I fought so much with everyone that defended the kiss in the jealousy date, they lost another if not the only intimate thing they had all for themselves.
This time voluntarily, with MC being "forced" to accept it.

I understand, normally you wouldn't mind to much about a kiss, but for them it is much more important and gains a big emotional weight.
I'll have to play the cynic again but I really think the whole kiss thing was Lacey bullshiting him to appease his feelings yet again.

We've all seen how extremely easy it is for her to attack another dude's tonsils, both with Damian and the bald dude. Both high and sober. And with MC around in some form. Are we to believe that in college, with a bunch of boyfriends, MC not even factoring in her mind and lots of drugs, she hasn't kissed once? When the game makes abundantly clear she has an oral fetish that practically makes her lose control when it comes to acts involving that? Come on now.

If I had to bet on something actually being a first for her, I'd say double anal fisting seems the safer one  And even that is a risky bet.

Totally does, it is my mission to uncover all that, as long as the author will give us hints.

Yup. He definitely could.

Usually he gives some subtle hint in the narration when he wants something pointed at, without saying it. So if he wrote something like "Lacey started laughing, the rest followed", that would be a good indicator. But the way it's written it's just a "and they all started laughing" line.

He probably just forgot the laugh thing. Which was idiotic to begin with. She was having fun dates and stuff in college, and she didn't show the basic human expression for "fun" once? Mia was probably too busy jerking off to her cuck videos to notice.

Mia's comment on the Jared situation was meant to show how suspicious Lacey's behavior was with him. But dev picked a weird way to tells us through Mia. And then forgot.
