Exactly. This is where I was relieved a bit. We knew the MC was... damaged, but I didn't realize he is "Lacey" damaged, maybe even worse off mentally. Though Lacey shows a couple of times in some of the dialogue that she is suffering from some type of multiple personality disorder, which may be better in her case because it allowed her to compartmentalize her issues.
I see the MC more like Distant Shores, he is dealing with this demon in him that is beginning to take over. It changed my perception of him from "weak tit, wishy washy cuck with no agency", to a story component of his characters damage, something that has to be overcome and not a character deficiency itself.
His "protection" persona I think is who he could be, but as it is now, it is a front, not a compartmentalize personality like Lacey, much more messy, more like a shield to which keeps his actual damage locked in (which is why his constant thoughts are self defeating and irrational) which leads him to absorb more damage and continue to lock it behind that shield, but instead of a shield it is more of a prison that is bursting at the seams. We are seeing the break happening...
It became clear to me that some characters are pushed to the "safe" zone as the author wants them. I don't see Isaac as having devious motive anymore, though it irks me that he is becoming more of a part of the story as a "friend".
Though the bedroom scene clearly showed Lacey and her thoughts concerning him, which... I think helps to draw a line there.
I don't see the professor forcing any involvement with them (maybe allowing as he did with some of the others). I tried the "lopsided" option, it was somewhat amusing, but I am not a fan of that content regardless of the perspective or the target.
Diane was a bit of a surprise though, little bit of a let down, but... well... I guess understandable considering her past. I think that is also important here... everyone has baggage, nobody is "innocent", only perceived as such. That perception drives various acts and I have noticed my position change on characters over the course.
I came to an understanding about this story. I don't have a problem with where it goes (though I have been clear, I don't like cuck stories, nor the MC being pushed down as a prop to glorify the betrayer). So if there is tragedy, if characters are moved around to different positions by the author, and the ending isn't what I desire... I can accept that, as long as it is "reasoned" well intelligently.
I think Lacey as a redemption is getting there (long way to go, but there is reasoning). The MC is set now, so I no longer have a extreme worry about him being slid into the cuck chair. I don't think that is where this will lead, none of the dialogue is heading that way, and if you did the "lopsided" scene, even Lacey makes it clear that such a thing is not good for loved ones... ever which gives me some understanding of her intent (but honestly, at this point in the story if anyone still thinks Lacey has devious motive, I would be interested to hear the reasoning, because I can't see it at all).

Completely unrelated, but if somone likes L&J, would you recommend On Distant Shores? Or is it very different and cannot be compared at all.

cant compare them. two completly diffrent storys and genres. but still a great game.

You may hate the ending... it is a bit of... well... a lot of people hated it and felt cheated. I didn't care for it, but I didn't "hate" it like some do.
For the most part, it is just a Harem/incest type game with some strange developments. Interesting ride, but for harem players, I can see how the ending was a bit of a let down. It has a tendency to get you completely wrapped up with all the FCs, and puts you on a path...
To be honest though, I think it was worth the read though. It is classic professor story telling, but in a different genre I guess would be the word for it. It isn't NTR or anything like that.

I mean it depends, if you somewhat believe in the concept of Purgatory then suicide is pretty up there in the "doing wrong" list, but I was just joking... maybe? I am not familiar with the other game but it would not surprise me if there is any paranormal element being the driving cause of some of the events in this game.
I certainly hope this story does not run into that side of things... at least not to a level where the characters actions, behaviors, or situations can be absolved via "magic wands".
I probably could live with the base concept of their situation having something "injected" into it, but not to explain current story.
That is, if for instance one of the story progressions is taking the "normal world" issues they are dealing with and then injecting some supernatural obstacle or issue, I could "accept" it (though no really want it), but conditionally as I mentioned.
I just prefer this story to solve itself to normal world concepts, not through "special" means, but I am just the reader on a roller coaster, I go where it takes me.

Could seasoned players recommend games that have this NTR heavy but deep story focus as L&J? Something as punishing as this in terms of psychology of Mc?
Maybe "turning the page"? but it is heavy weighted to demoralized endings. To be honest, most are just going to be cuck/humiliation stories that are poorly written or if they do have fair writing, they are focused on kink serving, not actual legitimate story progression like L&J is.
The professor is really an oddity in the content here.
To be honest, I don't bother with much of anything anymore on the site. I am really only here for the Professors work.

Was no Anna in Act3? was the date with MC cancelled? I ask because I see no mention of Anna in the list and glad to see Bethany is still one of the "good" ones
So, this game also became a typical NTR game (the first act already were on the verge of it, but there were signs of a good and somewhat logical story ), where the story doesn't make any sense and all of the characters are behaving like drug ridden and mentally ill morrons ?
I am very much debating if I should even try act 3 . It is al ong game and I don't need to read another clusterfuck of a story..

Bloody hell, honestly that "plot" is one of the dumbest thing I have see in a story and I am a avid reader of light novels so I pretty familiar with dumb
. Honestly I think it will just skip this update until Act4, none of the opinions of Act3 I had read(good or bad) have increase my interest on jumping to Act3.btw can you spoil me about the "MC loopside threesome" that for what I can read between lines it just one of another "Lacey's great ideas'".
