Holy shit. This was the first time I picked up this game. I played through the night. What the actual hell? This is one of the best games I have played in ages. Thank you dev. This is a work of love.

I try not to make it something very mechanical; I find it's easy to take away the feeling of whimsy and life in a game, and reduce it to a shopping list. Instead I'm trying to insert them in places where the belong organically, and use ingame hints and characters musing to nudge you into testing stuff.
I guess the big drive for this comes to something I strongly dislike in modern AAA game design, the reduction to pattern. If you look at Dragon Age I => III (let's ignore II, because it was a crime against human nature). Where DAI had companion quests that happened in a variety of organic ways, every single companion quest in DAIII triggers the same way, after the same time, for the same number of times, with the same outcome. It feels mechanical, lifeless. DAI had whimsical and unique characters, DAIII had a dressed up tamagochi you needed to feed missions.
Apart from that, 0.4.18 is the final Act IV build; I'm now working on Act V, as DA22 said. It's likely someting like 6-8 weeks. After that another 1-2 final world expansion / polish / bug fix releases, then the steam release, then Book 1 is complete.
Nah; the hands are used to calculate damage in the RPG combat section. There's also an auto-select move that just picks the best hand it can (you can get this from in-game help as well)
I personally like the Starcucks music, but it seems to *really* offend some people, and I'm all about affordance. Since I already had a jukebox, it's not that hard to install one at the Starcucks as well, and let you 'set' the music, so it'll remember it the next time you visit.

I like the music but also the ability to set the music is great. I am finishing again Witcher 3 and as you said in many games the quests tend to become mechanical (go there bring this etc) a really great exception is in Witcher 3 as many times the quests produce new ones and complicate the story but sure having a tree of quests takes time to make all the available paths. I believe small paths and simple solutions it is great for Love of Magic

Certainly a lot of great games up there. It's also interesting that two of the games I often compare myself with (Naughtyroad's Light of My Life, and Hope's DeLuca family) are just ahead. Like LoM they're games that tend to focus more on relationships, characters and world-building than pure porn.

The games are usually shortened to DA:O and DA:I. I'm not quite as certain that the companion quests for DA:O were that organic though.

Seems straightforward
Do you need to visit her again to trigger a second scene? See "slutty nun" below, last line.

I am playing v0.4.18. I have 3rd black rose. I have visited Olivia after her tentacular experience. Olivia has visited pub, if that makes a difference. MC has received BJ from Jenny as part of Black Rose 2.
I visited Starcuck's over and over again and couldn't trigger Black Rose 3. I was assuming, from the walkthrough, the scene would involve Olivia.
I enabled debug mode in settings and checked the flags. I found flags for "black_rose2" and "black_rose2_olivia".
So, referring to an earlier post form you, I added "black_rose3" to the flags and revisited Starcucks.
I then got a scene with Jenny in "slutty nun" getup. Is this supposed to happen here?

- then visit again at night (once you have 2nd black rose) and get BJ.

So I have a rather unique issue cropping up, and it is rather heartbreaking for me...
I had a save right after the end of act 3 - then had to stop playing a while due having to get a new pc. Moved my saves and stuff over, updated the game, and started playing. Got decently far into new content, saved a couple times (deleted an old save to make room), and quite for the night. Came back today, and only the remaining two old saves were there. The new save, in act 4, was nowhere to be found.
I checked the folder where the save should be located, and sure enough, only my older saves were there. Oddly though, some of the .mem files for stuff I had unlocked (like the next rose event) were there... so it had properly saved the memory I unlocked, but not the save file?
Any ideas / thoughts on this one?

Hi, PhoenixFireeye - I had a look at your guide and some useful info it there, thx for sharing. I liked your info on combinations for Elsewhere, it confirmed some of my ideas and gave me some, too.
I had a question about Emily. You wrote the following (pasted below). What did you mean about the "Excalibur spell", please?

-During story events she also has access to the Excalibur spell
-During rest, there is a scene you can activate once
-She also makes exploring treasure chests a sure thing. She will either find +1 or +2 Ingredients
-She has a special event at the shrine once you have 10+ Swordsmanship
Weird; I never actually delete a savegame on my side.
As an aside, the .mem entries are actually savegames; you can just rename it to quick.sav, and load quicksave.

Excalibur is the special blessing; it's only cast 3 times in story-based scenes (the first minotaur battle, the lich battle, the dragon battle). In act V she's also got a new move, Dragonslayer (which needs some nerfing, right now it's OP as all hell).
Finally, Emily and Sword>=15 is needed to trigger a scene on the Paths in Elsewhere (At the Shrine).
