So i've been thinking of playing this game for ages, but the sandbox element makes me a bit apprehensive. Looking for a good story to sit back and read through rather than porn or gameplay. Does lom offer that? is anything missable story wise if I don't diligently play through the sandbox elements? is there a VN mode btw?

thx, really like the fantasy aspect, just not into sandbox and gameplay.

It's an especially good story, so I recommend it just for that. There's no VN mode for this and I genuinely think for this one, it wouldn't work for this game, unlike those other games that claim the same. At least without an overhaul.

As for the sandbox element, it's valid concern, I guess. What I can, as a player, say about the sandbox elements is that unlike most other AVNs, which does it to pad game time, this game implements it in a way to enrich the world it's in. You'll see some companions as they order coffee, buy books, etc. unlike do X Y times.

There are rewards to interacting with the sandbox system, but in theory you can go through the 3 books by skipping time, just going through the linear element of it, and never interacting with the map after the first few minutes of playing it or something. Yes, you'll miss content like your sub, your pet dragon, exploring layers of your companions, the dozens upon dozens of foreshadowing Droid put in it, etc., your stats and gems would be utter crap, but yeah, they're optional contents and the story would still continue regardless if you miss some of those stuffs.

I still recommend playing it the way it's intended, as those optional contents are superb, but there's your option. If you do decide to skip it (especially the majority of the gameplay) then you'll probably want to use the debug option in the settings to cheat your stats, or something and know that pressing 0 during combat reduces your opponent's HP to either 0 or 1 (if there are still dialog associated with it). Oh! You also might want to join the Discord. We offer help to newbies having any questions. Might be able to ease you in with the sandbox.

Have fun!

I would say LoM is a story with sex in it, not a porn game as such. I like to think it's got a good story, but I'm not the right person to say so :)

Sandbox wise; there's 2 things happening. There's the 'main story' that follows a set cadence (on day 5 this will always happen). We're up to Day 265 so far, with maybe 150 or so events like that. If you never want to explore, you can completely ignore it. It does mean you'll miss out on side-events, but the Wiki has you covered if you just want a way to play all the story without hunting around:

Gameplay wise; the game ships with a built in debug editor for editing your stats etc (Ctrl+J to enable). You can also auto-win any combat by pressing '0'. Some people really do enjoy the combat minigame, though, so it's worth playing it first before you go for auto-cheat :)

The story is captivating. Characters are well written, and make you care about them... one or two, you will hate! Like any good story, it creates emotion.

The poker part can be played on easy mode. I actually enjoyed it. There is a mode that might bbe auto matic? Not sure, as I never tried it, but says "I just came for the story". There are some things that are unlocked during poker battle.

There is a walk thru, so you can see what you need to do regarding sandbox, skill increase, etc. I haven't used it yet, as finding side content can be fun.

I just got done with book 2 and i wanted to know how much of book 3 is left?
For story focused games i prefer playing them after they are finished because its difficult to keep track of story details as updates come out over time

A fellow onion pixies survivor. :D Regarding your question, Book 3 is closing in to its ending. Droid's working on Act XV+, basically side contents that can be triggered throughout the book like Kingdom Events. After that, there's the final Act: Eternal Summer then the Epilogue. Even if you don't intend to make a full playthrough right now, I still recommend at least playing the beginning of Book 3. It'll be a good after seeing B2 ending.

4/5 acts are done. As LeonzeT2 said, I'm working on act XV+ now; hope to clear that this weekend, then get back to finishing up the final act + epilogue.

I think the most common failure is not talking to him in Elsewhere, where he gives you a bit of foreshadowing to book 3.

Between my normal work (making porn-games) and my hobby (also making porn-games), I've been too busy to do much in the way of updates. I figured I'd share what I've been up to, and where I am in terms of progress on the two games; (hopefully they don't take offence at Lin's bare midriff), so anyone can access it:

(or if you prefer, )

If Morningstar looks interesting, don't forget to give it a wishlist ;)

Someone posted this old poster from Showgirls to Discord, and I couldn't unsee the girl as Molly :)

This isn't the first time Molly replicates scenes from 80s and 90s movies; this was one of the earlier fan-sigs, inspired by Flashdance
