Man, I'm sad to say that after slogging through Book 1 and Book 2, the game kept getting gradually more annoying. Now I played the first 5 hours of Book 3 and simply could not go a second more, I had to uninstall. All the little frustrations and the weak story have gotten to me.
The writing for all three books is extremely long-winded, derivative, and honestly sounds like it's written by a teenager. And I wish I had counted the number of times the MC says "crap".
There are far too many things wrong with the story and gameplay to list them all. On a positive note, several of the girls are really nice. At it's best, the relationship between the Chosen and the MC, despite being borderline statutory rape, is somewhat touching. Mostly though I didn't enjoy the writing. And there is just so very much of it. Anyone can write verbosely, writing succinctly is far harder. (Which is one of many reasons I'm no writer.)
After wasting some 50 hours on on this game I'm so frustrated. I genuinely don't understand why Love of Magic has a good average rating. I'm really wondering what people enjoy about it. I'm assuming that people like the story since it's unlikely to be the gameplay or the sex scenes.
Speaking of... this porn game has far too little porn. And the few sex scenes there are include far too little penetration, animations, variety, etc.
The gameplay is a imo lackluster, point-and-click grind. For me it required a walkthrough since it's quite counter intuitive.
By the way, imagine if you could see a count of the total number of mouse clicks you've had to use in this game. It will be staggering.
