I had an idea before you sent me the screenshots, but now that I see that lonely yellow "Š" on the Main menu I can't make sense of it. That's a very very unique and weird bug if I ever saw one. I will need to do a lot of research! Thanks a lot for sharing those screenshots!

Any ideas on how to fix it yet or am I up a creek?

Been away for so long, came back to check out the progress and the scenario editor but it's supporter only. As a non-supporter it doesn't feel like much has been changed or added. Oof! :HideThePain:
Regardless, good luck, and it's great to see you're still engaging with the community. Huge plus and this interactivity will carry you onward!
The Scenario Creator is the centerpiece of the application for creators, but the Scenario Player will be free for everyone! Also, the support I get makes it possible for me to work ~60 hours/week on the project, so having an incentive to support me financially can only be all the better for the project itself haha!

In the Scenario Player, you will be able to switch characters from scenarios with your own (if the scenario creator enabled the option). So you can still use this public version to prepare the girls of your dreams haha!

In its current state at least, it seems like it shouldn't have any or only mild paywall content, with the option for support. I'm not sure how others feel, but I'd be more inclined to support it if it had a more moral setup in that regard.
My opinion completely differs and I think that supporting the project is the only moral thing to do if you want to see this application going v1.0 sooner than later hahaha!

Um, hard disagree.

Most adult indie games at this point are stuck in this place where they are using software like HS, HS2, or Koikatsu - and it's totally illegal / unlicensed. They can't get their game on certain platforms like Steam, and have to basically beg for donations via Patreon and Subscribestar. This also puts them in the position of never really wanting to "finish" a game because they can't "sell" it as a finished product - and people aren't really too keen to throw donations at a dev when there is no new content forthcoming for a title (whereas if they could just sell it outright on the marketplace, it would be a different story - people continue to buy finished games many years after they are released.)

Lucid Lust gives you a very reasonably priced alternative path to have your game be 100% legit and not run into any of those headaches described above.
That's a very interesting point of view! Plus, I might add, that there will certainly be some new openings in addition to people using LL as a render application. You will be able to make paid or free mods for LL, you will also be able to share/sell your scenario files directly to be played inside LL.

Also, once a launcher is made (should be made for v1.0), there will be all kinds of ways to share and download user-made resources. I can't wait for the project to grow week after week haha!

Funny of you especially to talk about screenshots, since in the next supporter version coming out in 3 to 4 days (v0.4), full screenshot support has been added to the Scenario Creator. MacOS and Linux should be able to make screenshots of any resolution, while Windows will be limited at the moment to the screen resolution; this is due to a set Windows limitation since Windows 7 that doesn't allow applications to have a higher resolution than the display one, even in windowed mode. I will do whatever I can to go past this limitation, but in the meantime, here is a simple 8K screenshot:

There is also an "upload to Imgur" button for easy sharing, uploading your screenshot in a Lucid Lust repository!

Your problem is nowhere to be seen on the internet, and that's an occurrence that happens so little (having no one encountering the same problem as you), that I'm lost for solutions for now. You made me want to answer haha. I don't like to post too much because I don't want people to consider it as flooding. I always try to answer to everyone once I have at least some pictures to share.

The project is going great, added a way to save, load, and share scenario files. Now people can create steps and write dialogues; and v0.4 will come out in 3 to 4 days, along with bug fixes, a built-in screenshot system, and an updated main screen credit where every supporter's name will be readable from a 1080p display.

The community voted for the Male Creator to be done next, so after v0.4 that's all I will be working on. Then it will be either the Futa Creator or the Outfit Creator (depending on a new Supporters poll).

Also, once the Male Creator is done, I will make a poll for supporters to decide if the Male Creator becomes public like the Girl Creator is, or if it should stay a supporter-only. I'm all for democracy haha! I will do the same poll for Futa, Outfit Creator, etc. It will all be left to the supporter's choice. The only modes planned to be supporters-only by myself are the Scenario Creator and the Studio Mode.

Since I haven't talked about Studio Mode in a while, I will simply say that it will be a better tool than the Scenario Creator to make renders. You will be able to make screenshot with transparent backgrounds to use characters (or anything) as sprites in external programs. You will be able to do many hacky things like hiding body parts, making body parts bigger/smaller/longer/shorter, adding your own files directly into the scene, etc.

To make it simple:
Scenario Creator = Make a Scenario with custom poses/animations, dialogue, choices, etc. to be played directly inside LL.
Studio Mode = Make high-quality renders without any limitations, full of hacky and convenient options.

I hope that you are all doing well, and I can't wait to share a new public build with you! I know that I already said it but F95ZONE is the most positive/least toxic place I've ever found on the internet to share a NSFW project. The vast majority of you people are great people, I love you! Sounds really good, hopefully my posts didn't come of as shots towards you, but rather just expressed my yearning for more as a free user. It sounds like it's going in a good direction and you're right that the changes coming forward and more access to free users is going to completely negate my current sadness with the game.

I also didn't understand how much work you were putting into the game, I'm not a developer so I don't have much knowledge on what it takes, I'm glad you're getting so much done and I'm especially glad you're happy with how it's going. I beg of you to keep moving forward and never drop this project I love the progress and words!

I have a quick question. Once V1.0 comes out, to get access to the Scenario Creator and Studio Mode all people will need to do is join your Patreon for one month, right?

I really like your project but I hope the (economic) entry level to make Games (scenarios) is not too high... I think a big reason why many of the games here are made in, for example, RenPy, is that it is free for creators to get the tool and develop their games. Of course I understand you are just one person and you need remuneration for your work, I just hope once this amazing tool is out it won't die out for lack of content (given the needed investment to develop games for it).

Yes, that's it! It's precisely like as of today, you can only give the minimum fiver entry fee and get the latest updates for 30 days. If you want to wait for v1.0 so that everything works flawlessly and interconnects, you can, and then you can only pay another fiver once a new version has something that interests you in it (for example, let's say that v1.4 adds a new character style or even full horse support or something crazy like that lol, and you feel like you can make use of it in your scenario).

But the thing is that v1.0 will be all you need to create scenarios. New versions after that will not change/alter previous in-game options, only add new ones. So scenarios/characters made in v1.0 will fully load and work in the free Scenario Player v4.7 for example.

The lack of content is a major concern of mine, so I have been working on mod support since v0.4. As of the latest version (v0.4.42M) you can add custom makeup textures, and save modded characters. In the future, you will be able to add any texture to any option + more complex things (like injecting your own morphs into characters). Currently, I'm heavily working on revamping the old UI for a new visual one! Here are some screenshots:

As you can see in those pictures, you can simply make texture mods by putting both a PNG and a JPG in the right directory. I've already improved on this system by a lot for the next version (added a way to have multiple options squares for mods like for vanilla options, and added a way to add hidden tags too). Textures don't have any size to respect, they are being automatically fitted to the shape they are going onto.

And also, as you can see, hair are being improved by 400% haha.

And since I'm currently focusing on the new UI, two days ago I reworked everything to fit any screen size. The character's Creator UI and camera should now fully work and adapt to any screen ratio, from 4:3 to 32:9! Here is a fast demonstration:

OKAY COOL lets have a conversation thats has always bugged me about video game character designs and hair. Why do most CD in 3D rendered games call shoulder length hair "long hair" and thats like the longest you get with most CD? Is it due to clipping and rendering issues past the shoulder point like i dont understand why CD cant have hair down to at least middle of the back? like proper long hair is!
Thanks for bumping this thread with a great question haha! Most Character Designers in 3D games cap "long hair" at shoulder length mainly due to technical constraints.

The main issue for non-physics hair is obviously clipping; if the haircut keeps the same shape regardless of the character's pose, the longer the haircut, the more it will intersect with the character's body/clothing. This is where you divide your haircuts into skinned groups, and each group gets colliders/bones to simulate a simplistic physic. But even with that method, long hair is still scary because 1: the longer the hair, the more resource-intensive it gets for the simulation, and 2: the longer the colliding hair, the more prone they are to glitches; in addition, entire bodies rarely have full precise colliders, most characters are mapped with big boxes/capsules.

I have been heavily working on those types of hairs since I started working on this project, but I've listened to all the feedback that came to me and decided to revamp everything to get to the third option: simulating the hair "for real". This method is never used in games, they pretty much all use a card-based hair, that's because it's very demanding, and strand-based physics eats up resources like I drink coffee. That said, some recent games feature strand simulation, but it’s usually a hybrid system, partially physics-based but with lots of baking and cheats to avoid burning your GPUs haha.
Because most of the time, when working on a fully physical solution, you get this kind of results out of nowhere:

Now what did I do to make optimized fully physical haircuts? Here is a small list:
- Integrated camera's distance inside the shader itself to dynamically reduce the number/details of strands
- Divided haircuts into groups to treat most of the physic on a strand-group basis
- Pre-cached hair simulation for predictable movements
- Added hair quality options to adapt to most computers

What I did to make haircuts as customizable as possible:
- Skinned haircuts to the deforming character's scalp
- Added position/size values to optionally override the hair-conforming shape
- Ported my previous hair coloring solution and added even more color/amount options

As before, you will be able to customize gradient length/strength as precisely as humanly possible + add two different streak amounts. Here is a simple screenshot made to show the 6 customizable colors in action, don't mind the haircut/scalp, this is work in progress haha:

I still have things to implement to make hair perfect, but for later because I need to make v1.0 one day haha:
- Using old haircuts/similarly shaped haircuts to use as impostors when very far away
- Optimized procedural external collision
- Layered collision for upcoming other physics-driven objects like clothes and body fluid
- Dynamic hair growth to be able to tailor haircuts even more

SO, how does this new method compare to the old one? Here is a simple comparison between now and last year:

As you can see, I don't even need to write the version number above their heads now haha. Shadows, nostrils, eyes, everything has been improved with time. I can't wait for v0.5 to be done, so you can all see what I've been working on for such a long time now!

Just tried this today and wow!!! The character creator is great so far, as someone who tried and failed to learn Daz3D this could be an amazing tool for visualnovels!!!!!

Full modding support will let you do absolutely everything. The next version (v0.5) will already support a lot of mod categories (including full character texture modding among other things). For Chastity content you will be able to mod clothes if I don't make any vanilla content for it haha. Still, I sure want to make most of the requested stuff vanilla (this also adds the opportunity to "hard code" specific things to custom stuff, like a lock state to a cock cage for example).

For bondage content "in a big way," the same thing applies. There will be included content (like at least one cross, one bench, etc.), but if you want a specific machine or a specific modifier applied to the body shape (a skin torsion for example), or anything out of your dream, you will "simply" have to create or download a mod and put it in the right mod folder to then use it as your heart's content! Body shapes, objects, clothes, environment, etc. Everything will be fully customizable with mods! ♥

Here are some pictures to preview the upcoming v0.5 (still no ETA, but I'm working HARD on it!) ♥

v0.5 will let you play with the liquid simulation (as a preview for supporters), full modding support for everything texture related, a simple way to enable/disable physics (to help with optimization for low-end computers), full FSR and DLSS support, and many, many other new things.V0.5 will be the biggest leap in Lucid Lust history.

Face details are doubled thanks to a new RGBmap system, letting you make even more intricate face skins. Skins have been improved once more, along with reflection, and in addition, Lucid Girls will have more than 20 skins to select from in v0.5, and 161 facial piercings zones (with the new vertex skinning system)! And yes, every zone can be used at once! I think that no other game let you have this many piercings at once (if I'm wrong, please tell me the game so I can go play it haha). Also, with the new refined expression system, transition time between expressions will be possible, and piercing position will be calculated at the very same time as the face vertexes, meaning that you will have realistic micro piercing movement in real-time!

In addition to the refined expression system, the liquid simulation preview will give you even more freedom for testing the character in any kind of scenario you want to imagine it into haha!

Still, I sure want to make most of the requested stuff vanilla (this also adds the opportunity to "hard code" specific things to custom stuff, like a lock state to a cock cage for example).

For bondage content "in a big way," the same thing applies. There will be included content (like at least one cross, one bench, etc.), but if you want a specific machine or a specific modifier applied to the body shape (a skin torsion for example), or anything out of your dream, you will "simply" have to create or download a mod and put it in the right mod folder to then use it as your heart's content! Body shapes, objects, clothes, environment, etc. Everything will be fully customizable with mods! ♥

v0.5 will let you play with the liquid simulation (as a preview for supporters), full modding support for everything texture related, a simple way to enable/disable physics (to help with optimization for low-end computers), full FSR and DLSS support, and many, many other new things.V0.5 will be the biggest leap in Lucid Lust history.

Face details are doubled thanks to a new RGBmap system, letting you make even more intricate face skins. Skins have been improved once more, along with reflection, and in addition, Lucid Girls will have more than 20 skins to select from in v0.5, and 161 facial piercings zones (with the new vertex skinning system)! And yes, every zone can be used at once! I think that no other game let you have this many piercings at once (if I'm wrong, please tell me the game so I can go play it haha). Also, with the new refined expression system, transition time between expressions will be possible, and piercing position will be calculated at the very same time as the face vertexes, meaning that you will have realistic micro piercing movement in real-time!

In addition to the refined expression system, the liquid simulation preview will give you even more freedom for testing the character in any kind of scenario you want to imagine it into haha!

I remember when you first started this project. You had done an incredible job from the start and it gave people like me hope that, one day, I could create a character, specifically because I'm writing my own adult story. I haven't been on the thread in awhile and it's Amazing to see your progression and the advancements you've made for the mods. Incredible work.

Is there any similar game where you can create your own characters besides Home Together and Lucid Lust which are still not nearly at the same level as HS2? Does anyone know is Illusion successor, IllGames has plans to make new HS game?

Please wait for the new 0.5 version of Lucid Lust before comparing it to anything else haha. But in the meantime, I suggest you search for the " Character creation " tag on F95, there are plenty of games and projects with some in it!

Now, let's talk about the upcoming v0.5!

A new Save & Load system has been fully implemented, like some other games, it makes use of character cards. But there is more: each character card also registers an optional character's form, where you can put as many details as you want for your character. In addition, character cards are fully mod-compatible!
This new system also lets you set tags for each save file, making it a very useful way to manage your characters. Here is an example: inputting "french" in the search bar shows me this Camille character cause I've put #FrenchBabe as a tag. Also, for high convenience, the tag search function is not case-sensitive, while the saving keeps everything from your text inputs (even special characters, emojis, and line breaks!).

In v0.5, modding is made extra easy, you simply put textures in mods folders and let Lucid Lust do the work haha. Plus, most mods will be fully compatible with the thousands of Daz resources already existing, making it easy to start your customization journey! Here is a fast example made in 20 seconds with a Navi texture made for Daz Genesis 8:

Again, those kinds of resources will not be included in the base game because any derivative work is, at best, editorially licensed. But you, at home, can do whatever you want once the new version comes out haha!

Sadly, I'm working so hard on the project that I didn't take the time to make any screenshots/video, so once v0.5 is ready, I will have to take another 2 to 4 days to create promotion content. I don't even have a screenshot to show the new off limit body shapes system!!! Stay tuned, and I hope to see you soon playing with my dream project! ♥ ♥ ♥
