I met the same trouble in the game, I don't know if it's a bug.
So I was cheated to change the <eventDoughterLeaningHome> from 0 to 1 in the save file.
Maybe when I have time, I will try to start the game from beginning again to check if that's the problem about I had used old version save file when I updated the game.
