Yes, I understand what you mean, but I'll be honest, sometimes like you, I've had bad days, very bad days, especially when I had to deal with the death of loved ones, and here I've always felt a lot of hostility, which causes me not to take very seriously 80% of the comments.

I had this twist planned from the beginning, It's not just for free. I want the endings of Lucky Paradox to have a meaning and not just be “Harem ending”, I love writing, and I want everything to take shape, but sometimes so much hostility doesn't help to try new ideas, it's discouraging.

I appreciate it, tbh. I played the game first a long time ago, and at first it did not catch me at all, and I skipped characters that did not interest me.

But since the tournament started, it became more interesting, and with every character having some part in the mystery as the story progressed, I became more engaged.

Sasha's story is definitely a highlight, and I am curious to see what you are cooking regardless of what negative comments you get. Because I want to see your story not what you think would please others.

Uh, dude you are dead wrong, this game is dark AF at times. Did you like just speed click through it to whack off, without reading the text or paying attention to what was actually going on?

• The MC's best friend (Prim) is dying of some horrible illness. To make it more fucked up, it seems this runs in her family and she's not gonna be the first casualty of this issue.
• There is another LI that switches between 2 different versions of herself - one outgoing and slutty, the other timid and terrified - and she is pretty understandably upset about the whole situation, and worried that the other version is going to completely take over.
• Something terrible seems to have happened to your brother.
• There is another LI, who seems to be a little... mentally challenged? And there are suggestions that she is being abused at home / her workplace.
• The French chick is basically only around because she is running away from her control-freak mother.
• One of the Pumpkin farm sisters is pretty fucked up because your brother abruptly left and she feels abandoned.
• Nearly every single character, maybe even every character, appears to be suffering or in a tough situation, if you actually pay attention.

Those are just a few off the top of my head, I haven't even played this one in ages bc I am annoyed as fuck that they keep adding more BS with rando addon characters rather than adding content for the mains (unfortunately the classic milk-it stage in most AVNs these days.) I am sure I am missing/forgetting even more dark shit. And don't break my balls if I got one detail slightly off here or there, it's been at least a year or more since I even touched this one. But the point is - as someone who actually fucking played this, and paid attention - hearing about Sasha dying is not even remotely a shock.

I did play this game. I was paying attention. Because it can get too dark is kind of why I slowed down playing it. What I was talking about is frameing and genre. In comedy dark shit can be overcome. In horror - too quote Alan Wake "there are only monsters and victims." So what genre is this? Probably the same as dreams of desire if I am being honest. But u dont know that going in which is my point.

The game doesn't really give the impression of being dark. Look at the main menu screen, the music, the description. I think this is part of the reason why you r getting such a negative reaction to Sasha's death; it is unexpected and seems out of genre. Gretel may break the 4th wall, but what attracted ur player to ur game in the first place? Maybe change some of the first impression messaging away from cherry harem game.


TLDR: Look at the comments. It was definitely unexpected.

I don't wanna play the smart guy here, but if you didn't notice, it's clearly because you didn't read at all. The game is always telling you that something is happening at all times. Do you wanna know about it? Okay, go on: research items, progress with the story of the girls, even some of the secondary girls give you hints about the current situation of the town, but not the whole information. Why? Easy, because the game is narrated in the first person. Actually, that's what I like about this game. If you dare to assume that you understand the story 100%, then you're probably a casual player of rom-coms who doesn't give a crap about the story... BECAUSE THE GAME IS ALWAYS HIDING INFO FROM YOU, BUT ALSO GIVING YOU HINTS ABOUT IT.

Is it wrong to like casual games? Not at all! Of course, you can be a casual player who likes games with a story that just ends with the generic harem ending, and again, that's not a bad thing. I've seen many stories, not only here but in anime, TV shows, and movies, that just go with the happy ending (High School DxD, To Love Ru, Sword Art Online – talking about animes with harem – or Disney movies, whatsoever, Modern Family, Friends, etc., etc.). But you always feel like the main characters of those rosters never die and never will (plot armor on top).

It was a potential future vision like you see with Maxy, Mary, Layla, and Charlotte. Also the threat of Hanna for Prim is mentioned prior to that so it greatly affects Lucky when he sees that vision for how important she is to him, but Prim didn't die lol. And I should know since I am Prim's number one fan XD

And that's exactly what's exciting about a story: not knowing what's coming. If that's your cue to leave a game, then perhaps these kinds of games aren't for you. I don't know if Stawer made it on purpose or not, but this is the dev drawing a line where you decide if the game is for you. (I'd say he did it even earlier when he started to mess with Maxy's alter changes, or even when Sasha started to explain that not everything is exactly what you see.) Actually, I'm going totally crazy on this one, but Sasha is all the time asking you, 'Do you believe in second chances?' (Whoever made the wiki, thank you!) It's a question that's always setting the pace for what's coming.

I'm going to make a statement right here and right now: This game is a polished diamond, but covered with dirt. Until someone realizes that this is treasure, this game will probably remain in the shadows, it kind of remind me of movies like Usual suspects or Shutter Island
