From the point of view of the sequence of telling the whole story, it is correct, besides, it will help to understand the reason why we ended up where we are (200-300 years after the nuclear war, having rolled back in development for several centuries). Another thing is that a newcomer may not understand the whole chain or just be lazy (which is more likely) and will be left in the dark about how the Diatima story can be related to this game. Yes, there is a reference to Luna's fall from grace prequel, but that's not a guarantee either, since all people are different and not everyone will be able to, figuratively speaking, "put 2+2 together". So it should all be in one place.
I don't think this version should have been shared at all, especially when it was revealed that 0.1 isn't even the full release v0.11, which has been available to patrons on patreon for some time now, but just a piece of it (probably not a small one, but still). Nevertheless, it all blurs the impression of the game.. I saw screenshots from the battle on the bridge and expected a glorious massacre, but instead I got "thanks for the game, end of version 0.1. But okay, "old" players who are familiar with LFFG and know what its developer, who has already proven that he can create great games, is capable of. But what will newcomers think about such an intro (v 0.1)?
But since developer
Frozen synapse hasn't been on the forum since July, it might make sense to think about the proper layout of the OP, and then ask the moderators to add players-agreed text to the thread's OP. Anyway, something to think about, and there should be more information in the description than just the "Xena is a warrior princess" banter.
P.S. Yes, I don't rule out that when the
first official (public) release of Luna Reloaded 0.11 comes out, the author will want to finalize this topic with his game, but until that hypothetical moment we will live in this mess if nothing is fixed.
