There is. The clue is in the graveyard. check the 4 graves in the lower right, and they will say something about the age of those who buried there: 38 68 78 and 88 years old. making the number 38687888 in which you only put the 3 6 7 and 8

go outside, goto the bridge, turn north, move slowly north (one step at a time), along the wall, an mouse click just in front of you each time.. 4 or 5 steps trip over, pickax. grappling hook...
