If it is day 4 - use awl on a crack in the floor near the chest

MISSION says: "Find a suitable place in the inner courtyard to leave the necklace". There are only four interactable locations in the inner courtyard, but none of them work with the necklace.
But then, after a frustrating time wandering all around the area (there are only a few places to visit, how hard could it be?), suddenly Ayla comes to the cell commenting how Florence was happy that she found the necklace where I left it... but I never got to leave it anywhere?!?
Things started to advance after that, but WTF was with the necklace?

I thought I was clear in stating that I attempted to place the necklace at every interactable spot. That included the bench.
The response to the bench was that mother superior will see it there, and wouldn't let it be placed there.

If you've downloaded "gallery unlocked" game from pixeldrain in this thread (posted 3 hours ago) it was a virus, check your PC and change passwords

Remember to never download suspicious archives from new users, especially when it's a "patch" or "gallery unlocker" distributed as a whole game archive.
Check the user profile to see if they're looking suspicious (sending a lot of similar links recently)
Use common sense and consider installing and setting up sandboxie to play safer
