Would using Hairworks physics from Witcher 3 work with this? So, they published a new gameplay footage on UE. So, what can I say.
1) It is, of course, quite a strange decision to release the game on a modern engine with DAZ models. Pay attention to the hair, it looks as disgusting as possible. In the game studios, the hair is made in Maya with a complex simulation using the toolkit xGen due to which a realistic simulation is achieved. If in static Megan still looks good, but when she moves, her hair looks like a lump of slime.
All DAZ models are low-poly, which is great for static renders, but they're not suitable for full game play. If you want to take it a step further, you need to contact professional 3D sculptors and make detailed copies of DAZ models from the game, rather than just dumbly transferring them to the engine.
2)The scene is over-lit as much as possible. Note the unrealistic glare on the table, the reflections. There is even noise in the game, which they try to hide with a denoiser. In fact, to make a long story short, UE is like any game - it's real-time rendering. 3)The animations are good, but that's about it. UE has great tools for animation.
4)The scene looks boring UE allows you to use their textures in Megascans and props, but I didn't notice that in the footage. I'd like to see dust on the table or floor, dirt on the windows - that's the damn least you can do. Any beginner texturing expert in Substance Painter can do that.
5) Are you going to make a game for VR? Then why the huge letter E across the screen?
You don't need to do anything for the bonus content, It's already unlocked. The codes were for earlier versions of the game.Is there any way to get bonus content when if use compressed version in season 2. I don't see option for that (I play season 1 on non compressed version and download Season 2 compressed to save some space on my pc and internet issues, PC is nearly full now with games).
if you don't mind, help me to unlock special events and hidden events. I check guide, it only show where to click for hidden details. but I don't see time for that. I only get to unlock meeting Emma hidden event only now.You don't need to do anything for the bonus content, It's already unlocked. The codes were for earlier versions of the game.

Before upgrading the rendering engine (and possibly migrating from a compile time rendering to a runtime rendering) they'd better finish the voice acting...So, they published a new gameplay footage on UE. So, what can I say.
1) It is, of course, quite a strange decision [...]
So the programmers and 3d artists are supposed to sit around and/or quit while waiting for the voice actors? Or should the programmers do the acting? Before upgrading the rendering engine (and possibly migrating from a compile time rendering to a runtime rendering) they'd better finish the voice acting...
Well... Inceton is asking money every month, and my guess is that 90% of the patreons would like their money to be used to *finish* what they begin, and not to begin 1000 projects (being one a migration to a new rendering engine of an UNFINISHED game). So the programmers and 3d artists are supposed to sit around and/or quit while waiting for the voice actors? Or should the programmers do the acting?
But I agree, they have way too much going on at the moment, not just this game.
Yeah, seems a bit strange. But then again, they had to redo 50% of the work already done as well, since one of the actors quit.I can't believe that once the game is up and running voice acting requires all this time.
And this can also be seen on their Patreon number: last August when they released the last episode of Season 2 they had around 4500 patrons, now they have barely 2000 patrons. Lost almost 50% of the patrons in just a span of one year. The priority of the funded should be the same priority of the funder. In this case they seem to be different.
A real free roaming 3D environment cannot be done by rendering in advance any possible 2D frame like the current game we are commenting in this thread. Or 100 terabytes would not be enough to contain all the possible frames, and the algorithm to choose the correct sequence of frames according to the movement of the virtual camera would be more complicated than the rendering algorithm itself...Btw, they don't just refactor the game with a new rendering engine.
The Unreal-Project is something entirely new, it's a completely different game. A free roaming 3D environment can't be compared to just showing images one after another And there is a lot - and I really mean a LOT - more animations to do than in everything we saw so far.
I don't wanna spoiler, but chances are you're going to hate the finale of Season 2 even once that all the VA and all the technical polishing will be perfect... The story has become disappointing and completely kills any immersion/identification of the player in the story/with the MC.I have not played Season 2 and am looking forward to buying the complete, fully VA rev once it is available.
I understand and I'm willing to take S2 at face value even with the reveal at the end.I don't wanna spoiler, but chances are you're going to hate the finale of Season 2 even once that all the VA and all the technical polishing will be perfect... It's like if JKR in the finale of the second Harry Potter had written "all you read in these first two books never happened because magic doesn't exist, so Harry is just a common kid just pretending to be a wizard, just like your silly 4yo little cousin does, and now buy the third book if your fantasy is strong enough to be still alive!"
Don't think so. The models don't have many details and games like house party even manage to run fine in Unity. Sure, that means there won't be a Android version of it.A real free roaming 3D environment cannot be done by rendering in advance any possible 2D frame like the current game we are commenting in this thread. Or 100 terabytes would not be enough to contain all the possible frames, and the algorithm to choose the correct sequence of frames according to the movement of the virtual camera would be more complicated than the rendering algorithm itself...
...I think that the only way to do it is runtime rendering (or at most you can render in advance some basic positions of the bodies, but then use them as 3D sprites that you still have to project in 2D to decide which pixels should be lit), and this requires the player to own a very powerful machine... IDK how many of us are willing to invest 5k $ just to play a porn virtual reality game.
There have been quite a few successful 3D games before Tomb Raider (for example Virtua Fighter 3 years before), but it was around that era when it became popular, that much is true. Along with Pandemonium and some others it made the PS1 famous. Around that time also the Voodoo cards hit the PC market and games like Tomb Raider got according patches, making them even more popular among us geeks and better looking than their console counterparts. The first 3D games to be successful were Doom and Tomb Raider. Before them, 3D CGI was used to adapt PacMan in 3D, but it was never a success: same as 2D pacman but you could also jump over the ghosts to avoid them. Bummer.
I'm so happy about that. And this can also be seen on their Patreon number: last August when they released the last episode of Season 2 they had around 4500 patrons, now they have barely 2000 patrons. Lost almost 50% of the patrons in just a span of one year.
