I think there was some loose idea about a simulation from the very beginning (the whole 1/0 glitch thing) but, whoever was writing the story could not bring it together in the end. And that surprises me, because there are some easy matrix-style ways it could have gone. It would not have been very creative but way better than "MC is the only sentient entity and the rest are glorified blow-up dolls". And you can tell when it happens. As soon as the clone angle comes up, instead of all the interesting stuff they could have done with it, it just results in the girls becoming brain-dead fucktoys. And it keeps going like that for 3 fucking episodes until the end.I was so excited how the story would continue when in S2 we did switch to playing Megan for a day and then ... nothing. Back to the old story telling, just with more glitches.
What I do expect from S3 is some background info however. I would like to hear the story why of all people on earth (sort of speech) he was the one who was chosen to be put into this scenario and why it exists in the first place. What's the point of it?
I don't think there's a way to successfully turn it around no matter what they do in S3 - I'm ok with a mediocre, lame take on the story moving forward because it would still be an improvement
