I have a strong suspicion that the Yeti subplot never went anywhere because it's probably tied to the Black Wolf stuff (his home village was in the snowy mountains) which is tied to Main Story stuff, so the main story going at a snail's pace is basically causing a chain reaction of content to be held up indefinitely lol.

He is a guest-written character, so is Arion, I think. Perfect example of what people are saying. There's an entire WIP dialogue branch with Blake the features Arion that will seemingly never be resolved and probably has very little to do with the main plot threads.
It's a cascading failure of event progression. Amazing.
It's true, CalamityColt wrote most (if not all) the Arion content. Hoping Hyao or one of the other content writers will step in to finish his WIP stuff.

If there is one thing I loathe in RenPy games it's when the author decides to take away the possibility of reloading and picking another option.
The author did just that with one of the big villains in the game. Who apparently is so powerful that he can see my attempts at reloading and picking a different choice in the dialogue - which he wont allow. The villain even told me to "stop messing with my save files". Yes, very funny (the first time you encounter that, after that it's all just frustration).
Now dear author, when you do this, this makes me incredibly frustrated and it gives me two choices:
1.) I am going to either figure out how to delete such persistent variables in RenPy games with help of this community
or
2.) I am going to stop playing your game altogether.
This is so frustrating. It killed all the love I had for hits game in one instance. It's not the first time I experienced this.
The last time was years ago in a different game. I know it has to do with RenPy persistent variables. Is anyone familiar with this?
How can I solve this problem? I really do want to reload and be able to pick another option.
Also this was a trap by the author:
Like I could reload and pick a different option, two times. And the third time was the worst option I could choose (serving the big villain). In case you didn't realise, most devs don't visit this site for random opinions.
If it makes you feel better, that choice doesn't matter at all, because nothing come out of it.
It was in fact a very interesting idea and has tons of potential if expanded upon, but end up without any meaningful followups, like most ideas in this game.
In fact, choices in this game don't matter, in that you either have the "right choice" so the game continues, or the "wrong choice" that lead to paths that sooner or later will be abandoned by the dev.

I was very very frustrated at that moment and I needed to vent. A lot. Of course, I know the author won't read my message.
And even if he did. The way the villain is written it's pretty clear that the author enjoys what he did there.
If you try to change this choice by reloading the villain will mock you.
If you go into your save files and delete the "persistent" file the villain will mock you even more in the game.
So the author even considered that and made probably several back-ups / fail-safes just to make sure that that one choice could never be reversed.
Now I would need to get into coding with renpy and find the places in the code where he assured reloading wouldn't work.
Alas, I do not have time for that.
I do not think an author or a developer should tinker with the players ability to reload in such a way. This is immersion breaking for me.
For now I am going to delete the game and maybe come back in a few years. Maybe it was even this very game where I stumbled upon this phenomenon the first time.
I am aware what kind of site we are on.
In this case I am very very glad I didn't spend money on this game.

I hate swapping characters. Every time I have to play as another character for a memory or as a cheat safe I want to fucking kill Hyao for making me waste time into optimizing the main character just for nothing. I hope that after so many players told him they hated the Black Wolf subplot and the memories' stuff he changed his mind about character swapping because it makes me want to quit the game and it's tedious to even skip to the scenes.

Sry you just want to jack off to some bara porn, but the Black Wolf arc is great, the Logan character swap is great, It's a great tool to tell interesting stories from different POV.
And it's definitely not "so many players hated the Black Wolf subplot", in fact you are the first one I saw who complains about it, Menacingly

Hyao has disappointed the majority of long term fans, from killing a fan favourite to never keeping consistent story plot continuation, evil route never continued, octodaddy vanished and they hard focus on nothing but filler.
I personally gave up this game after Gunnar staying dead, since I thought it was gonna be a bait to keep people interested in the story but
(But saying you want to kill the dude is a bit crazy just fap to something else)

Apparently it was always intended, but he gave no care about the fanbase wanting him to come back so he made Maul the new version, which didn't sit right with me at all, my only interest from the start of the game was eventually trying to soften Gunnar up and I LOVED his kinky af content.

Writing off non-paying fans as 'not valuable' ignores the fact that every paying supporter starts as a non-paying fan. Losing them now means losing future support — and that does affect the direction the game takes.
That's a weak argument, those who like his work pay to see the game a month in advance, and when enough of them make their opinion known they can influence the author, listening to complaints from those who don't contribute anything is unnecessary, giving criticism and opinions is one thing, waiting for free content and being a bitter person is annoying at best.

Yeah, but that's a pretty weak take. You don't have to be a paying customer to see a product is a mess.
The game's story has been all over the place for years, with no clear direction and ignoring its own plots. Even for constant paying fans. There was probably 40+ characters that could be fan favourites being developted and were not.
Nobody has asked for another crocodile tribe that will also not go anywhere. That's not bitterness, it's just obvious. When something keeps getting worse, people are going to call it out, whether they paid for it or not. That's not being entitled, it's having common sense. Your point would be valid if any other actual paying fan has hot his ideas to show up in the game, which is not what has been happening at all for many years.
