It would be stupid for anti-NTR trolls/crusaders to cause the dev to burn out when that game was obviously made to satisfy the netorare kink, not the other way around. You compare the NTR content with the one with the MC and it was way too notorious Scallywag was more of a NTR lover. However, there was a common complain about how Kayla was able to easily cheat on the MC in the update before the Christmas special.

Second, IIRC Scallywag said his mother was sick or something like that. However, he also mentioned that the update was going to be released months ago, even released teasers and previews, alas nothing came from it and dev went radio silent. Maybe he should have said he was going to put the game "on hold" while he dealt with his family situation. Much better option than just saying he was going to release the update, but remaining silent and keeping the Patreon subscriptions on instead.

This guy is the only one whose given us some context on what happened.

So it wasn't a lack of support, but some irl issues that came up.

Yup, I’m certain the new update would’ve been out before the dev went radio silent if that perfidious Christmas special hadn’t been made. He still would’ve left because his mother got sick but at least we’d have a massive update to play with meanwhile.

Upon his return in April, when Scallywag first went "MIA" during the month of March, he let us all know he was in the process of moving to be closer to his mother, who was diagnosed with leukemia (IIRC).

However, in the same post, he also promised to always keep working on the game no matter what happened.

From his radio silence for 5+ months now, we can unfortunately assume the worst happened and it took a toll on him. We all mourn for him if that truly is the case, but knowing it was a possible outcome, Scally is not forgiven for leading on his fans in believing all would turn out well in the end (for the project); he left his Patreon page up, and poor fools can still subscribe to a creator that ghosted everyone.
