I think it was mentioned somewhere in John's guide, but I might be mistaken. Though if it isn't in flannan's guide, it's definitely something worth considering to add to his. (Same with healing while lying in bed, but I think that's obvious enough)One thing I don't think is mentioned in any guide, placing a bed inside a native hut or house gives the option to sleep till morning or evening.
Timing just overlaps nicely to when they check, I believe - meaning isn't actually taken into account, just occurs when waking up at that specific time.is taken into account for increasing loyalty of captured NPCs inside cages.
Also some production facilities like chicken coop and apiary produce resources for time spent sleeping.
Unsure for traps, since I believe you must be further away for them as well for them to actually catch something, but crops grow once during noon(?) and I think have a chance to grow when a villager works at the field (a random one of them). But crops don't grow during the time spent sleeping and traps (both small animal and fish traps) don't catch anything during sleep.
But not entirely sure for traps, since I rarely use them and when, in mass just to forget about them after collecting once.
