I have a very old Gaming Laptop that should be consider as a Relic by "Modern Day PC Builders/Gamers" standard
DELL Inspiron 7559 with 1TB HDD + 1TB SSD + 16GB RAM
I remember noticing that we had very similar laptops. Mine though always goes crazy when I run the game. Definitely a videocard issue when I compare GPUs (mine is Intel UHD Graphics with only 4GB).

Not sure it's worth updating though as I'll likely need to change the laptop in the near future (been acting up a lot).

Has anyone managed to find a good use for the mermaid's water blocks? You can break a bit the hostile NPCs AI with them but I mean more visually. Whatever I do with them, they look ugly as sin...
You can see a swimming pool I made with water blocks in the screenshot included in the linked post below.

But, like Shurutsue said, you'll have to build around it. Or, I suppose, you could always add it on a floor above, using stairs and platforms. Just know that they can be a bit trick to work with.

PROJECT ICARUS
PART 2

This will be a short one, but I've been meaning to post this for a while.

I sorta-kinda solved the "making walls in the sky" issue by using a second level of platforms to create something more akin to a railing. Mostly to avoid my NPCs falling to the sea once I start bringing them in  Or, for that matter, me falling off when I'm running around LOL. Happened a couple of times TBH *coughs*

It doesn't look all that great, but it does the job until I figure out a better way of doing it.

And for those wondering why I don't just use walls, well... try using walls up in the sky and you'll get why. Damn things don't lock the way they should for some reason. It's buggy enough on land but it's much worse up there. Platforms OTOH snap just fine (though it does take a bit of getting used to to get it right). Go figure.

Oh, and Part 1 of this project is here for those who missed it.

And yes, I built a swimming pool in the sky :D (up on level 7).

I mean idk is there a bug or what I did wrong in her quest but there no craft option for me at all View attachment 4834248
Don't remember if there were specific quest parts you still have to do for her or if something changed and all that, but try to move her into the sea, deeper in water. I'ts possible that that would be a condition. but I'm not certain. Only bothered getting mermaid in one playthrough up until now. - and if the deeper water is a condition, you can utilize the water block most likely to keep the condition active further inland (but again, it's just a guess)

You can still do without direct support. (Sure, you do get a special role IIRC if you do that extra donation thingy, but eh.
Just try to use simple words as I believe the dev(s) do google-translate into japanese to read your messages - so it may end up weird if your message is overly complicated.
Makes sense. Thanks for the heads up!

Always the best approach initially! Which is why some more explanation of basic stuff for the game'd be nice. (But guess it'll just stay an explore and try to understand play for the moment)
Honestly, I kind of like the lack of explanation for basic mechanics. It feels like it fits the gameplay style of Mad Island. What I wish had a bit more indication is some of the more hidden stuff in the game. Not direct hand-holding telling you to seek any of it out, mind you, and not just stuff that's randomly strewn about the map either. I mean more specific and convoluted things. I won't list any of it since I don't know how much of the game you've experienced. I tried to do as much as possible within the game on my own before looking at any guides or anything, but once I hit a point where I figured I'd seen all the stuff I was going to find on my own, I looked the guide up and realized there were some cool things I would never have even thought to try doing/looking for in the game.

No, I do not have anything worthwhile to say to other points. My opinion and knowledge is limited. :HideThePain:
That is very fair, and I appreciate your response!

... since I don't know how much of the game you've experienced
I believe I've seen pretty much everything once, at least (minus some last patches, maybe)
Although I never really bothered reading much and just saved on choices to redo later to see some differences and such (not to read differences, mind you)

Mostly just focused on just sandbox-building, farming, raids, feeling disgusted by my own creation and redoing it all, over and over again. (Personally haven't really put much thought into the special characters...)

The whole breeding aspect and attempting to manage it all, while trying to build something useful and good looking (also defensible by npcs and such) was a hassle... I loved it and hated it... (specifically my most hated part is probably the defense walls. While straight ones woulda been much much much neater but eh...)

Although I don't think I actually ever tamed some beasts, probably...

Overall things I'd have loved some cleaner explanation for still would just be stuff like the storages (not chests) which "expand" the inventory of nearby crafting benches, or rather allow the usage for those benches with whats in it's own inventory.
Additionally, some slight info on taming or clearer use for intended structures. (Attempting to tame something in the wrong building while the building does/did display them inside... kinda deal)
Sure, nothing of that really is difficult and all, but doesn't really add to the discovery "feeling" of things.
Just what I believe atleast things to be explained a bit more (even if just a building description, for example)

But yeah, after a while I did try figuring out some "more in-depth details" of the game - although there is still things for me to actually explore, like with the beasts which I read about later. (But somehow never end up going for in any playthrough up until now...)

But yea, essentially, I play Mad Island mostly just like kenshi with the recruitment mod. Get a ton of useless guys, use them for work and train them up, ending in a fullfledged city. :KEK:
H-Content? Story? Haven't put much worth into it (not saying it isn't worth it, just didn't bother all that much with it - so long as gameplay can be neat)

Same friend, breeding and building is what I’m here for but the former is really limited yet and I suck horribly at the later.
