A lot of people will agree reworks should be left for after completion.
The game was fine before reworks and remake and people would actively give it 5 stars on here and it was generally very well received.
Now? Not so much and the overall rating it gets when people care to review is roughly a 3.
And some of the reworked stuff was just downright hated by the community damaging their reputation even further.
I am sure in time they could possibly escape the brand of being known for remakes and reworks on a whim but for now they did undeniably just damage their reputation.
It's no secret that a lot of people are rather ignorant of the difficulties involved in actually developing a good game, so I am not surprised that they would be feeling that way about reworks partway. However, the amount of effort needed to actually rework a game rises with the amount of game content produced, so the earlier that any dev can nail down exactly what they want to convey, the better, to avoid wasted time. I'd very much rather the devs be absolutely comfortable with, and confident in their choices, rather than plow ahead with a direction they aren't happy with. In this case, it shows that the devs care about their content, enough to be critical of it, and I believe the game will be all the better for it. I have seen what happens when game developers go towards one extreme or the other. It rarely ends well, usually some form of burnout near the very end, or sudden abandonment of everything. Also, people have a tendency to not be considerate towards content creators online, which is especially crazy to me, considering that many of the more vocal critics grab these games for effing FREE. Look at where you are commenting! That freeloaders and handouts are among the most vocal critics of games like this, especially on this site, is a never ending source of fascination to me.
