Love the game so far! Any hint on the Ravenswood Defense? All my people are lvl 29 and everything I walk through a door one is waiting.
Are you talking about exploring Ravenswood when you go to north desert for the first time?

If it is, then you aren't suppose to always kill the shadow but to run away instead.

There is a trophy for killing it once though so you might try that. To me, it was more annoying than anything because I can kill it just fine. Choose to concede (run away for combat) and save often.

If you want to kill it for the trophy, I personally recommend using Bianca + anyone who can just blind and silence it. Bianca's Haunting Bore is really good at dealing damage to it.

Thanks for the response, ya I killed it twice. But everytime I try to concede it won't allow. Tried a few combinations, but I think I have a bug. Every door I go through sends me into combat.

I've decided to restart anyway. I missed a lot and want to go back and get them. (Iris)

So I seem to be having some sort of issue I think in the war with beverly.

Even though it says here that I've pushed the border up to the swamp for some reason no matter how many times I clear them maids keep spawning south, near lothario's estate. I've also cleared all estates and folk villages up to the swamp and they keep popping up lmao. It's kinda impossible to push my squads further north if every single turn I get new squads in the south to deal with

i have a bug after the war. in the past i had done the war in version v0.20 but since i had found a bug that did not make me see my maids or the enemies on the war map, i decided to do it all over again with version v0.21.
with the new version at the beginning it seemed that the problems had been solved, but at the end of the war a new bug appeared. if when i leave the house i take the routes without taking shortcuts everything is fine and the inhabitants of nithercott are alive, but if i take one of the shortcuts a bug is activated and when i return to nithercott i find the inhabitants dead. and if the shortcut is selected when leaving my house (south forest) i find myself again on the war map with Melissa who tells me to go and face Beverly for the last battle

Yeah, that sounds like a bug. Combat shouldn't be triggering immediately every time you enter a new room.
Though it's worth pointing out that with the way it's set up, the shadow doesn't always follow you through the same door if he's chasing you. Sometimes he'll come through a different door from the same room, or try to cut you off and come from a different room entirely.
If you try to about-face and go back into the room you just left, or if you stand still for a couple of seconds, that might be what you're running into. The follow timer is really short, so it might seem instant if he follows you through the same door you used and you haven't moved or you tried to double back and go through the same door again.
As for running away - the engine calculates your escape chance based on your party's average agility compared to the enemy's average agility. The shadow is fairly fast, so if you're having trouble running away, it might be worth switching your party out for faster Maids and/or giving them gear that boosts agility.

Either way, I wasn't able to recreate the issue. If what you're running into is literally immediate and you never have the chance to move after entering a new room, I'd appreciate it if you could give me some additional information about what you're doing so I can look into it further.

Yeah, that shouldn't be happening. I'm not able to recreate the issue, either, which is doubly frustrating because I know where the enemy squads spawn is based entirely on game logic and has nothing to do with what you as a player are doing (outside of pushing the front line forward and destroying/liberating locations, anyway).

Enemies are meant to be able to re-deploy squads from behind the front line if they still control a location (which is why the liberation events are strategically important), but that should only be happening if those events haven't been completed.

Though I did run into an issue where enemy squads weren't going to the location they're intended to respawn at, which I've seen reported by others who fixed it by leaving the war map and re-entering it to reset everyone's positions.
I think I just found out why their locations weren't updating correctly even though the variables were correct. I'll have to test it more to be sure, but this should now be fixed for v0.23.2.

The basic steps are to find two Holds (there's one in each swamp region, both associated with nearby Folk villages), then go to the tower in the North Swamps after an event, then return to the Hold the event occurred in.
If you're still stuck, let me know which step you're on and I'd be happy to answer any other questions you have.

You can find Melissa's old panties in her room in Uncle Gil's Estate if you want to go looking for that. Otherwise they'll eventually become available in Emily's shop as a Contract for you to get regular shipments of.

When is the public release of 0.22?
Right meow.
Technically almost two weeks ago because obviously there's a lot of shit going on right now with adult games and I mod for a few AVN servers as well as running my own dev-only server and I was preoccupied with helping people as much as I could while also being out of town to help family but that's a whole other barrel of worms.

If that's the bug I think it is, that should be fixed for v0.22, which I just finished uploading and adding to the OP.
If you're still running into some or all of this in v0.22, let me know and I'll look further into it.

She is in the wilds you walked through to get to the village in the first place. She is a little south of the estate you start the game in. Make sure you don't actually go back to the estate though because it advances the story and you miss out on some of the story that way. You just have to explore some of the side paths in the forest areas. You should see plenty of side paths in the forest. Once you find her carry her back. Is definitely a great idea to explore those side paths anyway. Because there is some good equipment there which will help you in the early game. Especially the snake fangs you can trade in for antidotes. Is one thing I like about this game compared to some other RPG maker games. It rewards exploration and going off the beaten path.

Read the note and there is your answer on what to do. The feature you are required to use that it mentions will be useful at some portions of the game.

Yeah that's what was happening to me and why I've basically given up on the game as much as I enjoyed the start of the game I'm finding the war to be just brutal, especially because I'm trying to race north to make sure I can save one of the folk who had my baby.

Following the suggested dialogue options, Ambrose has said that he rejects the alliance but accept the Writ. Is there some step that I missed? I thought there's a way to make him accept the alliance without rejecting your Order leadership.

The war isn't that hard even with the maids spawning that far south. Providing you leveled your maids as much as you could before the war. Should be around level 36 even without using your money to pay to level them if you fought at every opportunity. If you invested in contracts with Emily and were smart with your money make sure to invest in leveling at least one maid on each team above and beyond that though.

Also a good idea to have Iris as a maid, earn the spider trophy and beat the secret boss. As well as doing Ivy's relationship quest. Not sure if Ivy's quest is needed for her to help with the defense though because I have always done hers before the war. If you have done all of that Iris's cooking will add a healing effect on Phoebe and Melissa for a few rounds, Bianca's pet spider will escape and poison the attackers, and Ivy will give a debuff to the attackers as well though I forget what it is off the top of my head. You can also leave the map and heal those two between turns easily. Between all of that Melissa and Phoebe can hold off any team that makes it through.

Knowing that it is OK to ignore those, and just blitz north and liberate estates as you go. Other than the time I stupidly dragged out the war to level my maids I always managed to save all of the estates with minimum issues. As far as I can tell they don't reoccupy estates you have liberated. Though I guess they might if I let the war drag out long enough.

All you have to worry about is heading north and liberating what estates you want to liberate.

Personally I would have arranged the teams differently but they are decently balanced teams though June's team could use a bit more fire power in my opinion.
