I have a theory about the controversy. I think is rooted in the immature minds of the less confident. Members that have little relationship experience and are edgy towards incell status. you can imagine someone struggling with even trying to have a relationship is going to look at ntr as a real possibility which makes just starting a relationship too daunting. So they lash out here to feel like they have some control when they don't really.
The only truly healthy NTR is one of mutual agreement and openness. There are a few games here that do that.

In life, it's almost impossible to have that work. we are not machines that can turn off our instincts.
Jealousy, greed, envy, etc... are built into us.

I think you make an interesting point, as well as anyone. Life is about risk. Failure or loss can have positive impact if there is learning and the specifics are avoided in the future. (I once read that on a fortune cookie) I especially like and agree with:

I like the game! I would say that this game narrative is more promissing than the one in Lost in Paradise, and I like Lost in Paradise as well, which leaves me the question: is it wise to be developing two games at the same time?...
