I am speaking for myself here..and for many who have enough of tourists who saw the game yesterday and say 'oh it can come out in 4 years i can wait'.
We aren't (all) tourists, we are just rational, patient people. Not that there's anything wrong with becoming a fan later on.

Far more H-games come out than one can reasonably keep up with (assuming not a NEET), so just play something else, or if you run out, do something else. Definitely don't let the diappointment spill over into toxicity towards the artist for whom we can thank for these works, as it can only serve to delay the project further. Plenty of devs work on great games in silence, and we are not mad at them for we are not aware of their efforts. Be thankful he gives updates at all, or if you think the updates do more harm than good, take it upon yourself to not read them, or to just assume the given dates are meaningless. I say this not in defense of the dev, who struggles with project management as solo's often do, but as a way to ease one's frustrations.

I do check this page often since I am quite excited to play it, and of course I'd like for release dates to be solid, but it is not a remotely big deal. This advice extends to well, all media marketing. Ignore the dates, just be excited for the concept in the back of your head, until the release comes along to provide a pleasant surprise. It's just more enjoyable that way.

Dont try to make me out to be the bad guy here..im just annoyed by the people who always say 'oh give him a year or a decade more..' that kind of responses are more toxic to the fans than the devs lack of commitment.. Also in every project ever any update that means longer wait, came with at least a small snippet of lore/info/roadmap...looking at the state of the demo..the what is done sheet and the length of the process im getting afraid that the demo is just the full game without the cg and hero-heroine system...after a demo we would at least expect another big city, a few more sectors and some new system or big bad like bull...

"I'm happy to hear that you'll be okay even in April 2026.
I'm looking forward to your new work, but please don't push yourself too hard!"

"Actually, next year is fine."

These people are insane.
This is precisely the kind of behaviour that I am talking about... The fuck you mean "next year is fine"?? The game has been in development for almost 6 years now. I have spent less time being a part of F95 than this game has been in development.
I understand when people say that this is not a Patreon scam, that he is not milking people, and that we haven't paid for this, but come on. Pasta has pushed back development several times just because he wanted to add more CGs, then the addition of CGs breaks something, and he has to fix it, then more CGs, and so on.
If any other developer were to constantly delay their game, even if they are not receiving a cent, that's still an issue. Game developers, regardless of whether they are H-games or not, are sort of public personalities; their words carry a weight, and their promises and deadlines could be considered commitments. If you constantly break those, your credibility as a dev is gonna take a hit, and that will ultimately affect your sales.

Glad that the blog was updated. that means he is still alive and checking out the game, but 6 years are 6 years. He could release the game as it is, and then, as sales start rolling in, he can add more CGs as after-launch updates. The same goes for the voices, he can test everything on his end while the "full game" is already out there. I also remember that someone on the blog pointed out that it didn't make much sense giving voices to heroines that are replaceable, that you can take multiple copies of, or that have different moralities, as per the game's Holy/Evil system. Sure it would be a nice Add-on, but not a necessity.

So currently nothing is known about when the game comes out?
It is rumoured that it will be released this month. But pasta can always postpone the release so nothing is said for sure.

Also i played the demo for only 1 hour. i found parts that i wanted to do but were not completed so i left it there until the complete release

Honestly, in my personal experience actually dealing with the games industry and their productions, the people who get the maddest are usually the biggest tourists that know nothing about production or the creative process.

I'm not saying that as a "You can't criticize games if you haven't made one." I'm talking in terms of if you're actually part of the culture or if you're a tourist. Generally speaking if your into a sport, you'll try to actually play the sport, be a coach, a trainer, a manager, or whatever. If you're into movies, you'll eventually try to make an amateur film or two. Actually going through the process yourself gives you a level of respect and admiration for the level of effort and dedication it takes it do. Such things are very laborious tasks.

But the average gamer. They just play games and never attempt to learn what goes into them or the creation process behind them. Most can't even be bothered to make a minor mod. And even a minor mod is not really enough to give an idea of what a full production is like. As a result, they lack respect for developers and lack patience with developers.

Because they don't know what actually goes into game development or just think of developers as some kind of monolithic entity and believe a single guy can somehow match the 1-4 year (Or even monthly) release schedule of a AAA company. Being used to games like Fortnite shitting out an update every week fucks up their perspective on how much effort development takes, since they've never been part of a development themselves.

Fuck, Kaga Shouzo is the man who created Fire Emblem. Spent the last 40 years in the industry. And he's been making indies as a one-man-team for the last 25 years. There being 6-8 year gaps between his games is nothing out of the ordinary for him. And that's the pace of a seasoned, genre-defining pro with four decades of experience.

They've never actually taken part in the core sections of the culture. And that's what makes them a gaming tourist. I've found impatient, over-emotional, and hyperbolic behaviors are telltale signs of it.

So... you're one of those "Team Cherry sucks, release Silksong you lazy devs!!!" kind of person, I guess?
I don't know man, these kind of takes just seem so... childish. Why do YOU care if its gonna affect THEIR sales? Doesn't seem like your problem at all.
You just want the product now, product that you have dedicated some time and energy, not money... well then, if that is an issue, just stop? Go dedicate your time to something else. If that dev is not worthy of your dedication as a free lurker... you're not chained to them or this game. If you take great insult in the dev being unreliable with his deadlines, which he has ALWAYS been, like forever, then stop being a fan and caring. You care too much about something that is absolutely not about you.

I think the real big problem with this game is that it was announced really early and its breaking too much deadlines. The dev should know his own pacing and not do this kind of stuff. But taking its time to do what he loves its a must, and rush stuff just because there is people getting impaciente is unreasonable. If you want to do something good, u really need to think about it and that takes time. Anyway just my thoughts about the topic.

Why do you care so much to post an opinion about what I said? I could say the same thing to you... Why do you care about something someone said on an H-game forum? So much so that you needed to post this? If you find me that childish, why bother to confront me? Are you the kind of guy who goes around confronting childish people? This forum is just for posting opinions. You may like them, or you may not, but attacking people just because they think differently seems way more childish. And as the previous comment said, the real problem here is that the developer has postponed the release several times and has also provided very little info as to what he is working on or what the current state of the game is. The only things we know are those percentages he posted months ago.
THAT is the real problem and why people are frustrated. Am I not allowed to post that here without triggering people like you? If you are so bothered about something I said, then sorry mate, but maybe you should take it down a notch and go do something else. Why are YOU so invested in defending this developer?
