It sounds like you're missing some files from the game. I would recommend using 7-Zip to extract the files instead of using WinRAR or WinZip. You can find instructions for 7-Zip here:

Alternatively, do you by chance use Citrix to work from home? If so, trying to load MotH will cause an usual error message to appear. There's a workaround for that.

Open up a command prompt (as administrator if you are using Windows 10) and use the following command:

Code:
CitrixWorkspaceApp.exe
DDLOCAL=ReceiverInside,ICA_Client,AM,SELFSERVICE,DesktopViewer,Flash,Vd3d,WebHelper,Br
owserEngine
Please note, there must be a space between CitrixWorkspaceApp.exe and DDLOCAL.

I don't use citrix or even have it, and I followed that 7-zip instructions. I think something missing in my computer because I have problems some other unity games too. But some unity games works fine.

Have you done a check recently for Windows updates? Also, could you provide a screenshot of the directory structure for MotH? That will help track the problem down if you've already updated Windows.

yes, I updated windows yesterday
Okay, let's check something. Go into the game's folder and look for any files or folders with unusual characters in the file name.

Such as é, Ж, ص for example. If so, change the file/folder names to remove those illegal characters and try running the game.

Didn't find anything unusual. And thank you to trying to help.
Ok, that's good. So no issues there. Give me a few minutes, I'm in the middle of installing Windows 10 on VMware as we speak. I'll be able to help you a bit more once that's done.

And you're welcome! :)

EDIT

Okay, what I'll need you to do is go into Windows Update. Using the two screenshots I'm providing, make sure your settings match mine. I'm running Windows 10 Pro (x64) if that helps.

Once you've done that, check again for any new updates and install whatever you find except for drivers for your computer's hardware.

I did that last night
Could you check your anti-virus software and add an exception to the MotH folder so it's excluded in your AV?

Also, a thought just occurred to me.. can you tell me the full path to your game?

Mine would be "C:\Man of the house v0.9.1 (extra)". If you used 7-Zip, the path should be the same.

Tried that and run the game different compatibility modes, also removed savegame folder. Guess I have to check my bank account and by a new computer.

Replacing the computer won't resolve the problem you're having. Having said that, you may need to reinstall the OS (which would be a better alternative in the long run anyway). Windows 10 has a feature that allows you two options to reset your system, one method allows you to keep the files already on your computer (which would really be of no benefit to you) and the other restores the system back to what it was when you first purchased it (essentially restoring it back to factory default).

I would choose the second option, but I would highly recommend doing a backup of your entire partition beforehand. Anything you have on the drive now that's important to you (photos, music, videos, documents, etc..) would be lost.

The one thing that you would need is an external hard drive. At least a terabyte or more would be sufficient enough.

If you need help with that, or the software to back up your PC, let me know and I'll be more than happy to assist.

Damn that's lots of work to do for one game. Maybe its time to clean up this computer but not right now. And again thank you for helping.
