Here is a screenshot of what I am getting in 8.5. This is even when I have the update installed on my system. 8.4 is running okay without issues now on 14' monitor.Sorry, but your problem gets weirder and weirder after each post.Are you using a external 14" Monitor? If yes, how is monitor plugged into your system (VGA/DVI etc.).
Did you check, if your monitor has additional drivers to install? And there is still the possibility that your old gpu driver has somehow a compatibility problem with your monitor.

That happens when your video system can no longer handle the game your playing and you maybe burning up your system.
These game are very heavy video user and take a lot of power to play them, this same thing happens all the time with lower end computers.
Your video system can no longer handle this game.

This is not a problem if you know you can scroll down and up but it was hard to figure it out.
These 2 pics show what I mean,just look at where my cursor is and you can see it. Crap you can not see cursor in screenshots.

But like I said if you know you can scroll your okay but it can be missed easily.
This is not a problem if you know you can scroll down and up but it was hard to figure it out.

I also thought this but was surprised, that v8.4 works just fine and v8.5/8.5b not. So did his hardware just hid the "mark" with v8.5b (additional content etc.)?!
@Vaibhav Sharma let's wait for v8.6 to see, if your hardware really hid the end of lifecycle.

Yes the more you use low end systems to play high end game it slowly burns out and can stop working all together if enough damage is done.
This is the same thing that happens with Sims 2 and low end systems.
Here is a pic of what happens when you play to long on low end system that is causing damage to the video.

are you playing that on 4:3 monitor? i can only suggest you play it in windowed mode in lower resolution or update your graphic card driver

I can only assume you are still playing from the 'old' grindthrough, the format of gameplay has been changed, (so in parts it can be misleading) you need to progress with the other characters and Officer Debby till you get the hint to go to the police station where you will overhear a phone conversation, then the angel line will progress. Just remember to keep a close eye on ALL of the characters hints, many of them are interlinked. Good luck and enjoy.

I don't know if its a bug or not so here goes.
After the 2nd arrest I went back the next day to talk to Debby and there was a convo about Megan but she would not talk about her because it was her job or something like that and the problem I never saw the 2 talking scene but the convo came up and now I think my game is bugged with that path.
I have already got V to 100/100/100 but could not get anything else with D or M so I decided to look at the walkthrough when I figured out that I had a convo about a scene that I never saw.
Also here is this one and there was another one 2-5 frames before where it says not to go to the bedroom and it should have said now lets go to the bedroom or something close to that, "not" should be "now".
The first "get" needs to be removed.
