The only thing that I see is you are missing General #9 (movie quiz). Once you complete that, you can do the bonus ending.
Go to the movie theater and answer all 10 questions correctly.

While I don't know which games you've seen and you may be correct with your statement and are obviously entitled to not like that, I can assure you that this is far from the most grindy available. I would argue that for a sandbox game it is middle of the road, maybe even slightly below average. Probably sandboy/management is not for you.
If you want grind, try Strip Club Wars or Lucky Mark.
(And I am not saying that to diss them, I have spent hours upon hours in SCW enjoying it)

Not gonna lie, it was worth the grind in the end. But you do have to make it fun for yourself.
