You can start as a male protagonist at the start of the game right or the default is the female one?

It's actualy only female MC, but some scenes are made 'point of view' from her husband/the male MC (if you want to call it like that).

The funny thing is, Marie (the female MC) has a gay (male) best friend, and some scenes are from his pov, or at least his 'thoughts'

Well, to be fair, ddfunlol is not what you call a fantastic dev. And he's very unapologetic about his product quality, too.

Well, to be fair or I should say objective...
You are light years away from knowing an ounce of my thoughts and you have never read what I have written about the mistakes I make !
But I don't blame you !
It's so easy to write things when you don't know anything!
If it wasn't private, I would have given you the names of the people who contacted me on F95 and who were supposed to translate the game but never did, but that's my problem and I have to live with it !

Otherwise yes, Marie is a horribly translated game and now you know why !

Seems to me like you paid way to much attention to the text and dialogues, look at the pictures and scenes in this game, that's were the fun stuff is

Do yourself a favor and play 'The motel' first !

Then you will see :

- grammar and spelling are lightyears improved --> Dev did a tremendous effort to improve his 'game language'
- conversations in DDfunlol games ALWAYS play in their own universe, the DDfunlol dimension as is. If you don't understand his humor, these games are not for you I'm afraid...

Hello, I speak a finno-ugrian language (a language, among the finno-ugrian language family) but the grammatical mistakes were disturbing, even for me. In spite of this, I love your game! It has some technical problems (e.g..: scale of enlargement of the screen), but it is the BEST and HOTTEST number one game among the similar RPGM game engine ones! Unfortunately the game stoped the third times, but the reloading and overwriting helped over the bugs, till now. I hope I will get to the end of it.
The characters are hot, the story is hot, and I like your unique solution for a VN inside of a VN. This method was brilliant in your previous work, in Marie, My Best Friend too. So I hardly can wait for finishing of your new game! I wish you holding on, health and a great success!

Fuck this dev and fuck this game. I don't say that lightly. The day 6 neighbor stuff was the worst mechanical thing I've ever seen on this site. Forcing a playing to sit through LONG STATIC animations while simulataneously forcing them to use a jankee arrow key system to input commands whilst frequently switching back to the old scheme of space-skip, just awful.

I felt like I should have been getting paid to play it, not vice versa.

If you think I'm being overly harsh, play the full game day 6 stuff yourself, if you aren't screaming at your monitor, you have the patience of a saint, and probably shouldnt be playing porn games.

Dude, you're way too late with your harsh 'criticism', the Dev finished this game like ages ago, and it was one of his first games.
In the meanwhile he has completed like 6 more games, and if you'd take the time to play one of those, you'll see that he has massively improved the gameplay in his RPGM games ...

Yeah I've gone through marie 2 and it was already a massive improvement in that regard, as well as the motel - so I suppose I shouldnt criticize the dev as a whole...... still, that experience was so bad it shouldnt even be in existence in a game.

Ok, I get it you got a bit frustrated perhaps with the 'mechanics' of the Marie game, or that specific thing you've described. But hey, that's probably also because we got 'spoiled' with the newest techniques in Ren'py games

You'll see that this Dev really did a lot of effort in every new game he made in RPGM to improve the gameplay, with the trics that are available (or limited in) the RPGM game engine.
NCSM : more like the 'traditional' gameplay, walking around from scene to scene
WwJF : more special, a bit 'Renpy' style imo
Saturday Night : clickable game play, I can really recommend it.

One thing is for sure, DDfunlol games are real PORN games, no weak stuff here ...

The game is good, unfortunately for some reason I couldn't translate it, but I understood something.
Marie is a woman who wants to free herself from the yoke of her husband and begins a journey of doing what she wants with her ideas and body, etc.... Great character, fun, flirtatious and sexy, and one could say a little emotional.
Kevin is the gay friend of Marie's husband, he lives with her and they began to have relations with her because of her sexual desire, a good character of hers.
Kevin 2, porn actor who started fucking her, nothing to criticize XD.
"Husband", Marie's husband, imprisoned for having relations with the mafia, is now being pressured by them so that his wife makes a porn video, I think, he became a cuckold and he doesn't like it, kind of stupid in my opinion ha .
Bimbim, Marie's best friend, wants her friend to free herself from "sexual dissatisfaction" and that is why she encourages her to have sex (same as Kevin), she is also a nymphomaniac.
Something I didn't understand was the ending, if you explain it to me it will be great, if I was wrong about something, correct me.
Anyway, great game, even if the sequel is abandoned, I will play it anyway.

PS: I don't understand what to do with the BBC in the market and with the doctor or if nothing should be done.
