Not likely, but maybe a new version? Honestly given the fandom and legacy of this game who the hell knows what'll happen to it. If it were to be revived; wouldn't be surprised, if a fan took over; wouldn't be surprised, if it were just to be dead; wouldn't be surprised. I think the only thing that would surprise me is if nintendo decided to revive it.

In case you didn't read the thread from the past year of posts, the dev had a C&D notification about the project. They have been attempting a legal battle based on fair use of the IP, and results are still being awaited. But if it fails, they mentioned working on a new game to compensate for the loss. If they succeed, they have a plan on porting the game for a new engine, since Flash is doomed. They do have 3.49 ready, but simply unreleasable due to the current legal issue.
THAT'S WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING!!!? I've been hearing a lot of different things but granted i've never really checked anything nor have been actually following the posts made by the dev. I'm gonna say the legal thing is slim chance of winning mainly because nintendo has money but it wouldn't be the first time people in power had their power regulated. Here's to hoping!

gotta go farther in the worlds. Personally can't get past world 1-1 due to poor optimizing. I'm betting in somewhere in world 3 but you could be S.O.L. and not until world 5.
the trick I found to getting past such is playing for intervals then saving then restarting it to help cover the lag
Yep. There is a v3.49, but only exist in the dev's PC until who knows when. The Abandoned tag was not a truly voluntary act, as you might learn if you look up their statement on the matter.
