My android port has an alternative save location, the save will remain intact when you uninstall the game so don't worry about starting over. And my port has a textbox opacity slider and text size slider and added change name to the main menu.

Yes but book is not finished yet.. so I'll make a correction and say it again.. Don't judge a unfinished book by it's cover
Master of dark arts is a proper non-porn-ish origin story of a good super-hero/anti-hero just like in the movies.
And it's yet to be implemented into the VN.. so you'll have to wait a little longer to know reason behind use of guns.
For now games story is focused on Daisy - MC's relationship and frisky stuff they do together.. as story progress you will see a transition to a different kind of story. (Poster is a hint at it)

Are you using old version of the game? or maybe old android port? Or old saves?

START A NEW GAME. Old saves will get you killed every single time. (USE skip unseen text feature if you don't want to play it again)
There's a walkthrough/guide below every choice inside game (latest updated version) and also a text file with walk-through. TRY IT.
