Jesus christ, if these companies want to release stuff in the east their going to have to get rid of the censorship.... They have games that are all about rape, but don't show a dick, that's not allowed... F*cking hypocrite backward logic....
They make up for the censorship with fetish and porn no other country can't replicated :ROFLMAO:. But really, the reason are pretty complicated, and they do have law specifically for censoring genital part.

For the billionth time, they don't have a choice in the matter, it's the law over there.

But why keep the censorship when it's to publish overseas? Do you know how many games have special versions for the chinese market? A whole bunch of stupid shit has to be censored there, like ghosts and shit. Same idea, but in reverse. Strip the censorship away for american market = many more sales.

Whenever I try to run the game, the program starts up and then immediately crashes. Anyone have an idea on how to fix this? :)

The fucked up part is that they can't have archived material without censored bits. If they archive their work uncensored to have the option to sell it overseas it is consider a crime. The only option is to have a subsidiary in another country do the art.

Isn't the origin of these games in asia? What is east of asia? Unless you think Prime Meridian is somewhere else than going through England/Spain/Africa.

A possible reason? Reverse Importing.

So what do you do when part of your domestic market waits for the uncensored international version, giving you less money and incentive to do the extra work/license it out for selling to the west? I realize this was more applicable to H-anime sales in years past, but I imagine it's is something that some developers keep in mind while planning their release schedules. I also imagine we aren't talking Call of Duty sales figures here either, as this does come across as something as a niche market.

Well, luckily, there's a few developers that seem to be importing titles and re-working them, like mangagamer, but the pace is nothing compared to the amount of stuff released monthly in japan. Obviously, now it's slowed to a crawl, but even 2 years back, they mostly had kinda old titles to work with. Wonder if it's a licensing thing. Probably more expensive to get fresh stuff, and they don't see enough return on investement to justify it. (Mostly because of us, pirating away.)

I wouldn't be surprised if it's just easier to get older titles because it can be seen as free money. Hell, this game was released nearly 3 years ago, and Appetite has made 30+ games since (if I'm counting that right). Would you rather license a game that doesn't sell domestically anymore and get more cash out of it, or a game that's still in your market and risk hurting your own sales?

As for companies like Mangagamer & Jast (they still release stuff, right?), I would guess their output is a mix of being fairly small teams and, ironically enough, having to jump through their own local pornography laws to decide on what titles to get the rights to. Then again, I did not expect MG to get their hands on Rance of all people, so I may be wrong on point #2.

I'm gonna be a contrarian here, I actually prefer censored content from when it's from JP games since uncen done by foreigner companies is bad enough to kill any boner.

I don't think that was a full fledge hentai, more of a "motion comic". Not a big fan of those. Kinda seems like a slideshow with sound most of the time.

Y-You do realize MangaGamer is located in Japan right? How can they reverse import their own products when they're translating them:ROFLMAO:
