Bit of a question for you "experts" in Raana. Is there any realistic way to do a high-end combat party that doesn't rely on the handful of mercenaries with ammo packs and maybe Dexter for his crit chance? I can't figure out how to make a melee-focused party work, since only the player character can start in close combat. If that changed (Please, Grim, please!) so any character with the right skills could do it, that'd probably make slaves a good choice for melee-focused groups. I can put a plasma gun on anyone, but the ammo costs seem to turn most combats into economic losses. Of course, there's a case for just not using anything above a rifle or so for most combats (Although Bud is so cheap with his ammo pack that it's hard to justify leaving him at home for any budget team anyway) since most fights don't need them. But you do seem to need the expensive guns for some of the newer quests, so you're either eating huge ammo costs or huge hiring costs for temporary mercs.
Lack of effective combat party variety is probably in my top three criticisms right now, but I'd love it to be user error.
Look for Malevolent Brawlers who are Warrioresses. You can get a Rebecca like that, I did and I didn't save-scum her. Otherwise keep looking either through randoms you capture or you might even want to hang out at the auction halls. Raise their discipline first, then train Melee and Strength. Wielding Greatswords or Power Katanas those slavegirls would pack a mighty punch. Kind of a long-term solution though. Health will probably be a major issue though, I've not had much luck getting Health increases and I train the physical stats every day.Bit of a question for you "experts" in Raana. Try Dexter sometime, especially in the beginning. His 'crack-shot' ability works for melee too, making capturing slaves pretty damn easy.I tell you my strategy:
Ayden: $430
Connor: $330
Felix: $350
And the useless Bud: $22
Total: $1,132
Advantage, unlimited ammunition and the cost can be alleviated, for example, in the Arena (two random fights give you around $1,100 to $1,400) and without considering the level 4 and 5 rewards $1800 - $2500) that this team meets to closed eyes.
Did you try bringing Techies with you?I'm trying to do the In The Name Of God quest. I have done all the courses, I have the lvl 2 portable PC, and I have maxed the home tech lvl. But I can't hack the door in Sewo. I used to in past games, but I can't now. Has something changed?
MC is the only one who can currently start in the close position so for everyone else, ranged combat is superior to melee except in long battles because you have to waste a turn moving in. With that being said, a pure melee strategy still works fine in pretty much all situations. It just takes a bit more work to get there. You'll want everyone to use a greatsword and that requires at least 75 strength to avoid a damage penalty and you'll also want everyone's melee skill to be high enough to be guaranteed to hit so somewhere in the 120+ range.Bit of a question for you "experts" in Raana. I use combat staffs on myself, 2 slaves, and 1 mercenary and obviously have 1 equipped with heavy gun.Bit of a question for you "experts" in Raana. Tech groupies increase my own tech skills? It shows I have a lvl 2, and the encryption is lvl 5Did you try bringing Techies with you?
You need around 70 science skill to hack it in a reasonable time. You could probably do it with less but it might take 12+ hours. If you try it at like 25 science it's probably completely impossible. Having a techie with you gives you a minor boost but not enough to make up for low science skill.I'm trying to do the In The Name Of God quest. Started originally focused as a mercenary/combat build and had two slaves with rifles (michelle/juno), Peasant w/ rifle, and Loren w/rifle. Cost less than $100 a day, not including using some stimpacks after some fights.Lack of effective combat party variety is probably in my top three criticisms right now, but I'd love it to be user error.
My Science is 64. So I am screwed, then? Guess I can try to get a techie to come. You need around 70 science skill to hack it in a reasonable time. There are books and academy classes that raise science skill significantly. If you've already taken all the classes and read all the books then it's harder but you can gain science at the historical society. It takes a LONG time though. I did that quest with around 70 science and it took awhile but I would think it should be possible with 64. You might have to spend all day on the hacking part though. Each click has a chance to succeed or fail so just because you failed once doesn't mean you can't do it. You might have to try each of the 4 hacks 10, 15, 20 times each before you succeed if your skills are low compared to the hacking difficulty. At high science skill you'll succeed on all of them on the first or 2nd try.My Science is 64. So I am screwed, then? Guess I can try to get a techie to come.
<edit> I just looked. I have no one with techie skills. This seems like a bug, if a quest has no possibility of moving forward.
That's why.Why do you need to get that particular girl's intelligence to 85? It's going to take a year and a half of game time to do that, if it's to fulfill a Dockgrave or Hunt Research requirement you might just want to pick another girl.
I've never used books or anything else, you can raise science with a lucky roll socializing at the redhaven Furry's Tavern. It gives it to you on the second social action. Also you can get it as a rare thing if you go to the assembly plant and work there and socialize there. My Science is 64. So I am screwed, then? Guess I can try to get a techie to come.

The best way to increase any slave's corruption is through bondage. If your Flagellation is too high, you wipe them many times, until they start gain corruption, then you can have a sex with them to increase more Corruption. Thanks,I got it. But I have one more question. How do I increase Loren's corruption? It always stays at 35 even if I choose "Demand sex".
