My stats are definitely not the problem. And neither is hers. Milou is at 50 Respect, Undying affection. It's just the Paragon -90 penalty and the wives -45 penalty stacking. Not that it matters since I do not like Milou that much. I just wanted to test the salary thing in day-by-day net cash gain since that seems new to me and I want to see if it affects the post-Aria's rebellion $1000 per day allowance requirement.

I haven't wifed her either. I was just curious to see what the chance was without any training, and for me it's poor rather than impossible. I probably will wait awhile since I definitely will be wifing Aria up before the rebellion and I also definitely will switch religions at least a few times which means I don't want more than 1 wife until I'm ready to permanently switch back to Aesir.

I saw similar effects from stats when it comes to convincing the more expensive mercs to sign slave contracts. Some of them are impossible unless your stats are at or near levels that are impossible to achieve without starting above the usual 90 pt cap (for instance I started at 170 int and around 170 manipulate in this game without doing any training for them yet). That's high enough to be able to convince some of the people that normally require a bribe to sign a contract without one, not that 50k really matters that much in the mid to late game.

Do failed rolls essentially show what is success chance? Like if it's 65, -5 then it means there is 60% chance for successful roll, right?
Essentially yes. Though in that example 60 would be a fail too, 59 would be a success.

And the percentage chance depends on what dice you are rolling (1D100, 2D50, 5D20).

There are also individual rolls that use a 1D110, or training where bigger numbers are better instead.

Have a lot of influence, you can engage with Hunt Research at Emerald island and they will take prowlers off your hand for 7.5K$ each.

Which mercenaries are cheap (<100$ per day)? I know Ansel, Bud, Aiko, Doyle, Rifle Savant and Jack Peasant are cheap. Is there anyone else?

Are you doing a no-slave run?

Anyway:
  • Loren
  • Enya
  • Armand (technically a servant like Laika, Adrienne, Loden, and Michelle, not a mercenary)
  • Kelly (especially if you choose the enslave over the hire route but even the hire route is cheap at $45 per day)
  • Einar (cheap only if you picked the Expert Soldier background in character creation, aka 3 levels of Soldier)

This is probably one of the best adult games that I've played. What surprised me the most is the replayability. These kind of games don't usually have this. It's a very difficult thing to achieve in a game. Congrats.

If I may just suggest a very small thing: the skill level maybe shouldn't scale so much. For example, having 80 charm could be a 40% improvement or so from 20 charm, but in reality, with 20 charm you will fail every check and with 80 charm you succeed all the time. What I'm trying to say is, when I have big numbers and succeed all the time, things start to feel more like tasks instead of achievements.

Yeah, there's a bit of an old code vs new code conflict in the game. The old codes tend to be the ones that are: reach this specific stat and you are good. A 79 DEX person cannot be in the frontline, but an 80 DEX can. That sort of thing. The newer codes, like the upcoming mercenary enslavement for example uses your Manipulate stat directly as the base success chance.

i finally found the reason why my text for the morning blowjob was fast it was due to the automation mod, not sure am i take the outdated one or it was intentional, still better or easier console code though.

the text in the fighting one was still fast though even without the mod, would be nice to have a log to check what happening during that fight.

From the wiki for the v8.3.7 version:
"Grimdark: You can no longer assign "away" NPCs (vendor assignments, scavvies, Academy) as Followers between 8 am and 4 pm, thus ending a well-known exploit that allowed you to have sermons and fights all day while still getting cash from Abbot Roo or Nika's. This is also true for Group assignments. You can also not "Clear" an assignment, set the NPC as a follower and then reassign that NPC between those away hours."

Oddly enough, I usually did remove the assignments from NPCs before 8 am and decided where they did work that day after 9pm (preferable at 11:54 pm). So that change will do a whole lot, if the code for money generation is still run during the midnight calculations and if it is not stored, whether the NPCs did really put in the hours the previous day. So I guess the real exploit will still be there in v8.3.7.

ps. At least a few other long standing things are slowly getting fixed in the new version and the few versions before.

That's a change I don't like personally. I'd rather the game remove any monetary and stat gain than lock away the follow option. To be honest, it won't matter much as your combat team is usually on guard duty. But, it could prove annoying in quests that insist on having a particular follower tagging along. I guess you'd know to clear out the assignment the prior day, and *gasp* plan and prepare! :D
