Not in this new version, if you turned the salary demands settings on. They will ask for a salary.You can marry them (if they're girls). You don't need to pay salary to your wives

, thanks.But hey, could this be a bug/oversight? In the old wife framework the wife could have a separate pile of cash for expenses.
There isn't one now. So where does she put the money? Back into the household cash pile? Hides it in her lingerie drawer?
And what about the base salary? Is it reduced or remains the same? Because if that is reduced then... what?

Not reduced anymore for NPCs like Enya, etc, who did ask for lower salary than they start with in the alpha.
The only one you can probably pay for less than last time is Milou. If in the old version you were paying $350 + $1000 for a non-wife Milou, now you only pay $1000.
Yes, it was on the todo list when I decided to take a pause on the mod, which turned out to be a very long pause.
If I ever get around to completing it, I will probably add that functionality.

For the library bonus for academic and science, do they stack if I make multiple libraries and what does it mean by non-bound?
Non-bound as in literally not doing anything or something like a maid where they can still be interacted with as opposed to a stable enrolled or school enrolled npc?

They do not stack.
Non-bound = not in bondage.
A girl in bondage room (or still an active followers) when midnight calculations hit are almost always excluded from midnight calculations.

Nah mate I restart a lot and have not seen that NPC yet. Will probably restart again to play with the latest additions to the game
