btw if anyone wants to use my modded version, i made one small change so that the affection values are shown numerically in the stats page on the respective setting - it was far too frustrated to check the exact limits for what "loving" or "amiable" meant in numbers. Everything else is unchanged.
I have a question about what the current respect affects, I know 25 gives 1% to the chance to increase the stat in the academy, not for all categories, a bonus to charm/seduction and to getting the background of the NPC above 25 does not really give anything? except charm
A minor effect of Respect is that if your wife is above 30 respect, she does not lose affection if another wife has the "First Wife" title.

I don't get how the cheat console is supposed to work. I can't even open it. Pressing ctrl + shift + j does nothing.

Works for me. If you mean Porrvald's cheat console in the front page, ask him if it is still functioning. Or do you mean the Tier 4 debug?
EDIT: Also, holy shit, why the fuck is the Cheat Scripts link from the front page that post when its a crude widescale code that sets all of your npcs down to whatever you type; a hammer all approach instead of targeting a specific NPC or cheat. Someone even posted a notepad list for download of all targeted console commands in the game yet this link is still active in the first page? "Oh, let me cheat Lovisa to have the warrior trait, put this guy's code in, and poof, all of my 128 NPCs now have the warrior trait".

The ctrl+shift+j combo doesn't open anything for me (I'm not playing in fullscreen tho, not sure if that makes a difference). Tier 4 debug? Do you get that by being a patreon?

I'm using chrome. And sure enough, clicking on inspect opens up a menu that looks similar to what the cheat menu in the OP looks like. I don't understand any of that tho to be honest.
Ok, well a piece of advice,
If you "don't understand any of that", do not touch the console.

Chrome, chromium browsers in general on PC will use Control+Shift+J to open up console. F12 also works but that is easier to mess up, end up in the wrong box. So I am not sure what is the issue preventing it in yours.
As for what I put in there, it's just the full string of console commands where I then hit enter. For example, I enter
SugarCube.State.active.variables.masterstrength = 130 gives me 130 STR. Changing the last text, SugarCube.State.active.variables.masterdex = 130 gives me 130 DEX.

What if I right click on inspect? Can I click on the console there in the right top corner as well? If so, what would I type there? It's a blank box. Really all I want is more money and to boost my manipulate skill

i have a void seeker currently like that... tried to mind wash or whatever the trait scrub is called but he wont take it....it looks like it's a hard fixed trait....

It happens when the Republic is at war with Lake City, and it caps at 25 points, though I think you can gain points again if it dips below. So the

jesus, if I'm understanding this right, it's on a 1 thru 130 random event generator of which 69 generates progress in the lake war...
I read the end of day updates and I havent seen anything about the lake for eons, yet the pirates just keep coming and coming. Looks like it's just stagnant at 7...
